"Paul, the owner, was terrific. I needed to replace a rotting wooden rear entry door with a new ThermaTru fiberglass door. I also wanted to add a storm door to the same entry. Paul came over and inspected the site and we ordered both doors in late December of 2021. The doors arrived several months later and Paul came out for the installation. He was great. He was clearly a meticulous and experienced professional who knew his stuff perfectly. After several hours he had completed the installation of both doors. They look and work great. Paul also cleaned up the interior and exterior areas where he worked and everything was immaculate after he left. Can't of better than Washington Door Service,"

"Emerald City did a A+ job earlier in the year when installing two wide bedroom windows and a new kitchen door in my home, so when it came time for the storm door (with a built-in doggie-door), I knew just whom to call. Communication and scheduling (Lixia) are professional and service (both on-site and when visiting the showroom) is great. I was able to choose my storm door from viewing it online and with a brief chat from the fellow (Mike?) without a showroom visit. I've worked with Tipton twice for my installations. He is dog friendly, which I appreciate, and an all-around peach. Emerald City gets my highest recommendation."

"Dan did a great job installing the LiftMaster 8550 Replaced my 18 year old LiftMaster died. He also said they need to replace the garage door rollers, lube & tune service. My garage door has been very noisy for 18 years, now it is so quite. Great Job Dan...thank you. Total Cost I thought was really high."

"When the tech came to install on Oct. 9, it turned out that the wrong size door had been ordered. So he left and our installation date moved to Nov. 18. Vasiliy came and did a good job installing the new garage door. The only beef I have is that the sales rep, Mike, did the math wrong on our sales contract. He missed adding the door opener so the overall quote was $400 less than it should have been. Learning experience for me: check the math! Argh!"

"I sought multiple bids for the project and gave Ethos a shot because of Angie's List reviews.  Bill came to do the assessment and bid.  I did not have to wait very long for an appointment date.  He was on time and was by far the most knowledgeable of the bidders and provided the most in-depth comments, ideas, and options.  (For example, I assumed we'd have to replace both the front door and the front storm door.  He thought they might be able to do some adjustments and get the front door working correctly.  (The storm door was definitely a deteriorating mess...)  He could have immediately sold me a front door without offering to try fixing it first.
I'd done some homework and learned things like you need to make sure the bid gets written up with the exact manufacturer name/model numbers so you get what you thought you were paying for.  Bill's bid already had all the features of a proper bid.  The biggest cost is the doors/related hardware, by the way.  We were able to use all our hardware again which saved quite a bit of money plus we didn't have to re-key.   I felt comfortable with the labor costs and confident in the company's skill so we made a partial payment.  It takes a few weeks (sometimes more) for the doors to actually arrive after being ordered (and a bit longer if you want them to be pre-painted a particular color.)  We were able to schedule door installations within a week or so after they arrived at Ethos.
I feel bad for Ethos because the extent of crumbling/rotting cedar siding and door sills may have been a lot more than even they anticipated.  Nonetheless, they stuck with the bid.  The installation processes went smoothly from my perspective.  The first day they finished the shop door install as well as a door and a storm door leading to the deck.  The installer called me over to point out issues, ask for my preferences, etc.  Housekeeping was good.  He was pleasant and professional.  They needed to return to do the storm door on the front of house and try to get the front door working without replacing it.  (Note: we have less daylight in the winter.)
Unfortunately, the front door problems didn't respond properly to repair efforts even after a couple of hours of working at it.  They gave it a really good try.  We needed to order a new one after all.  Also, there was a lot more rot affecting the areas to which we needed to attach and caulk things.  We interrupted the project to order the new front door.  The project resumed 4-6 weeks later.
I lack the language to describe everything done, but I can tell great attention to detail was paid to make sure everything was done correctly.  For example, despite having had our prior good quality doors "professionally" installed, you could see daylight on some of the sides from the get go.   I thought it wasn't possible to get tight on the sides, only the bottom of the door if you used weather stripping.  From the get go the front door would stick on the side that had the handle, sometimes you'd have to actually pull up on the knob to lift the door a bit and be able to get it open.  The door installed by Ethos fits perfectly.....
One of the days Danielle, the office manager, came on-site because she was curious and the company owner wanted her to be able to see what it really takes to get the job done out in the field.  She has always been pleasant and responsive (by email and phone) so it was nice to meet her.  I also thought it was great for the owner to care enough about the customers and his staff to invest in hands on education.
We love all 5 new doors and how smoothly they operate.  Ethos has been very easy to deal with, responsive, flexible, never cut corners, and I ended up confident that they are successful because they put the best interests of the customer ahead of looking at profit margins.
We have some windows we will want replace in the next year or two and Ethos will get the work, no question about it.  Also, I've since learned they do general construction work.  I just scheduled an appointment for them to take a look at a kitchen/bath remodel we are ready to undertake.  I'll keep y'all posted on how that goes.

"Our 25 year old house in Woodinville had two large sliding glass doors and a large kitchen window that needed replacement.  We considered several providers through Angies List and asked for several price estimates, ultimately selecting Cascade Window & Glass.
Attila came out to measure and at the time he provided a lot of useful information and advice about the overall condition of our home's windows and doors.  Our interaction with him at the time gave us a strong feeling of confidence about his ability to do a quality job, and his prices were excellent.  We opted to replace a 6' sliding glass door, an 8' sliding glass door, and a large kitchen window with new Alside PVC windows.
On the day of installation, Attila and his brother Laslo arrived exactly on time, and very quickly had the doors and windows installed.  They did run into some issues with our house siding - apparently the builder had never installed flashing above or below these doors, so some of the siding had rotted away.  Fortunately, Attila was able to refer us to a free-lance builder who came out the same day and helped us to rectify that problem.  They also helped us resolve several windows in other parts of the house that were very difficult to open.
It's not often that you run into people who sell and deliver an installation, and fully meet their promises with a positive and cheerful attitude.  If you're looking for someone to bid on window / glass project, be sure to call Cascade Windows & Glass.  We heartily recommend them, two thumbs up.

"Working with Mike was great. He had great attention to detail, and addressed all my concerns for the design. The installers did a speedy job with good quality especially when enlarging two windows. They were conscientious and cleaned up carefully. My Milgard windows look and work great."

"The project was started in June as soon as a few days arrived without rain. We do have many rainy days here during the Spring time. We were quite satisfied with their work. Everything looked wonderful. Our carport is about 38 feet long so it's dark out there until it is really bright outside. We will probably hire them to install two sky lights into the carport to open the general area to better lighting. They were not the lowest bid. The lowest bid was not outlined for the work to be done. We would not hesitate to hire them for another project."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Snoqualmie, WA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
