"Deck Guardian (DG) removed my old 600+ square-foot two-level deck and in its place constructed a new one using a similar layout. DG hauled away the old materials. I am completely satisfied with my new deck, which surpassed my expectation. I would rehire them for similar work and highly recommend DG to others. My only change is that I would require notice from DG before DG placed materials or a dumpster in my driveway. I was trapped in my garage for a day until DG made a path for me. This was a minor annoyance. During the sales process, a salesperson made stylistic recommendations, such as light-colored floorboards outlined with a darker color, which I accepted. He provided a detailed contract with pricing. Before the start of construction, I settled on a payment schedule for the contract. DG handled the permit process with my township. To begin the work, DG prepared a new blueprint. The upper surfaces of the deck were Trex materials and metal railings supported by a lumber base. I expect that this more expensive choice of surface materials will be maintenance-free. During the work, I could call or send email to the project manager and talk with him immediately or receive a call-back the same day. The two men who built the deck were meticulous and perfectionists. They courteously answered all my questions during construction. DG completed the deck within the time frame set out in the contract. They cleaned up all materials after they finished with construction."

Unfortunately, because of weather, I had to wait a number of months for his services. However, once he was able to start, his crew finished quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. He replaced some of my dead bushes and cut back all of the existing bushes. He also added stone where necessary. He was able to come up with an idea to prevent the washing away of stone in the future. He landscaped around my patio and added a few plants without any additional costs to me. We liked him so much that he will continue to maintain my landscaping going forward."

"I don't want this to seem like a negative review because their work and reviews speak for themselves. I am unable to provide an accurate review due to the limitations of the company's ability to do work within condo/apartment buildings. I can't blame them but their insurance company doesn't cover them. So, I guess this is more of a FYI. I am sure this is a great company to partner with for home projects. In our building next to Penn Station is a converted loft that used to be a button factory. Each unit has exposed brick, exposed beam, and exposed duct work which is rare for this area. These are deemed as New York-style lofts. There are 17 units in our building and all are individually owned. There are 14/17 units that are owner-occupied and everyone has their own contractors coming in pretty consistently to upgrade or make changes to their units. It's unfortunate and we looked forward to working with this company. I wish this company continued success and a great 2021. Sorry that your insurance providers wouldn't allow you to work with condo buildings."

"J&A built a deck for us with a lattice wall underneath. The deck was generally well done. The lattice was a disaster. After a year, I am re building it myself due to the poor quality of the original lattice wall. Joe came to look at the lattice but never followed through on repair. J&A also installed a new sliding glass door. That was well done, but the screen door does not work properly. Joe came to look at the problem, but never fixed it. His follow through is problematic, if something goes wrong.."
