"Robert and Karen are fantastic! They did excellent work and were always there when they said they would be. They arranged for Super Dave Window Tinting to tint the windows that they installed and the windows look great. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again. Thank you Robert and Karen."

"Excellent. On all occasions - he was prompt, punctual, friendly and worked very efficiently. When installing my new kitchen faucet, he explained a few options that we had re using the soap dispenserand hole drilling, etc. ratrher than just proceeding to finish the work. I would definitely call him again first for all of our plumbing needs. <br />"

"Better Builders (BB) really solved our problem. I had a flat roof; I tried everything to keep that area dry. As a preventive measure, at one point, I substituted the gravel roof for a torched down flat roof. The preventive work was a disaster because what I feared most finally happened. I had a leak inside my sunroom. Apachee Roofing made a mistake in the sealing process and they had to come and do it again, but the damage was done. It went from prevention to repair mode in one day, one mild rain. Second time around, I decided not to make the same mistake, I joined Angie`s list. After a number of visits from other roofers, Better Builders came across as ready, knowledgeable, organized and with reasonable pricing. I had stratospheric estimates reaching $ 20,000, but BB fixed my flat roof giving it a slope, insulating it and  they also did additional work around my chimney by sealing it and by designing a new aluminum cap for it, all for $ 7,200 with the Angie`s list discount (I paid extra for the insulation materials and custom-built chimney cap). I cannot believe I can, actually, say:’ I am happy with my roof.  I did not have to worry about permits or inspections. The job site was clean and they even brought a portable toilet unit for the workers. All in all, a great experience. The only bad experience is Angie`s list itself. The system is annoying with undesired emails coming to you all the time.  I almost cancelled my account. They are really bad addressing specific issues because the system seems to be all automated. Do not ever save a review as draft, they will remind you every day until you die. They are NOT there yet; it is not like being a member of the Amazon.com family."

"They were excellent! We attempted to install the set ourselves, thinking it would be a quick DIY deal, but when we opened up the wall behind the existing shower valve, we realized it was much more detailed than that. I immediately called Mike Seeders Plumbing (found on Angie's List with good reviews). I was expecting to leave a message since it was 6:30PM, but instead a very nice woman answered my call and discussed the issue we were having. She gave me pricing and clarified what we most likely needed done and scheduled someone to come out the next day. The gentlemen came out and were very friendly and timely and did a great job. I'm very glad to have hired someone for the installation; it was definitely worth it."

"The installation was perfect and added warmth to our living room, especially with the cold snap. Inspection revealed that it is up to safety codes. However, there was a delay in the inspection, but the owner, Jim Bennett, made sure that we were well served with the proper paperwork. He was extremely apologetic in his assurance that everything would be taken care of. He is good on his word and proves to be an ethical businessman."

"Everything went well until the counter tops were installed. The tops were not the pattern we had carefully selected. The response from our design consultant was that it was exactly what we picked out. The error was ours. She left KitchEncounters soon after. Shortly after, When we added a back splash, it was in the pattern we were sure we had ordered (so it does not match the counter top). Because our design consultant no longer worked there, they had to find the material in their computer records. After repeated calls and visits to the store, all with promises that something would be done, nothing has happened. We have been completely blown off."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sopchoppy, FL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
