"As is indicated in the stellar A rating in every category, I couldn't have been more pleased with all aspects of the products and services offered by Carpets to You. I have been patronizing this business for several years for tile and carpet throughout a number of renovations in our home. I have never been at a loss for options or assistance in making a decision and couldn't imagine using anyone else. Very highly recommended! <br />"

"The owner herself came out to measure and meet with me initially. I was very impressed with her professionalism! All the services we decided on cost as much as she had estimated, no surprises, and the carpets looked as good as they possibly could for 10-year-old white carpeting!"

"Better Built Basements LLC renovated my basement this past summer, installing a full bathroom, bedroom (with egress window), office and finished common area. The project went very smoothly, with great communication and follow-up. Just about everything was done to spec and on the correct timeline. At the beginning of the project we were provided a schedule, and they met almost every milestone; the entire project was completed on time, including pulling the necessary permits and passing all town inspections. We had a few change orders during the project, and they were able to work them in and still complete the project within the original time frame. The communication was phenomenal. For each phase of the project we knew who was coming to the house when, who would be in charge if there was any issue, and who we could escalate to if there were concerns. I would highly recommend them for any project. Months later we are as thrilled with the basement as we were the day it was completed. Thanks so much to the team for our wonderful finished basement."

"<p>per the contract, "promised" that the build out of the roof-line over 2 bay windows would stop leaking that we had in our basement. They removed 2 copper roofs over bay windows, built the roof "to code" ---to quote them... but not enough to extend past the window sill. Also did some stone work in the front entry. Cheaped out the veiling of the entry - fixed it when called on the carpet on this. (put up vented soffit for gutters as a ceiling of the front foyer). looks gorgeous. still leaks---b/c the new roof line drips tight on the window will that created ice in NEW ENGLAND WINTERS because water freezes ... can't stand outside and guard agains ice forming on the window sill as ice forms in winter. when this melted - leaked worse than ever....called company. got passive aggressive mailing on "ice dams"... which were NEVER a problem until they altered the roof drip line, which was "to code" but not far enough out to fix the leak. would never use them again. Overpriced for quality. </p> <br />"

"After visiting many flooring places and being disappointed by the lack of interest shown by the salesperson in explaining, to me, carpet details, i.e., quality, density, price, etc., I googled flooring stores in my area hoping to come across one I might have missed. That's how I came across Willis & Co. From the moment I walked through the door and was greeted by Bryan, one of the owners, I knew I found the place I wanted to do business with and the more we talked the more certain I was that I made the right decision. I was comfortable and didn't hesitate to ask many questions, all of which Bryan patiently answered. He was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful in assisting me in my carpet selection and knew when to let me roam around on my own. I had no idea of what I wanted and ended up making several visits to the store. Each time I walked through the door I was greeted with a friendly smile by Bryan and/or Debbie, the other owner, who assisted me if Bryan wasn't available and took an interest in helping with my selection. They always insisted that I take carpet samples home to better determine which one would work. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Today (Friday) Bryan installed the carpet on the stairs. He was punctual and had the carpet installed in no time. He even vacuumed the area when he was finished.? I can't say enough about Bryan and Debbie, they are a great team to do business with. ? <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in South-Britain, CT

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
