"Pacific Stone and Tiles came to measure and showed about 6 choices for granite selection for the offer price. We were working with our own interior designer and we were on FaceTime with her. She nixed the 6 choices so Pacific Stone showed us another granite which was from India and was mostly white with few markings and some reddish-brownish highlights. The effect of this Indian granite was white and it coordinated nicely with our maple cabinets. Our interior designer told us to choose that and we agreed to pay Pacific Stone $1000. more for this granite from India. No name was given for this new granite in writing. When the day of installation came, the old countertop was removed. I did not think to go out and look at the granite in the truck before installation. The installation was done very efficiently and very nicely. However, the countertop did not look like what we were expecting. The color effect was gray with many markings. We were expecting a whitish granite and got gray. I asked to see the original sample that we had been shown when we selected the white granite but they did not have it on the truck. I contacted Pacific Stone and they emailed me a photo of what they said was the granite sample they showed me, but it did not look what they showed me. The granite we got was called moon white on the final bill but it had no name on the original invoice we signed. I made a number of inquiries about the discrepancy between the granite color we expected and what we received. Pacific Stone said there are natural variations in the appearance of each granite variety. However, we paid $1000 more because we thought we were getting the granite color we and our interior designer viewed and chose. I don't think I got the granite we selected and feel I paid $1000 too much. I now have to figure out how to get the granite to coordinate with the maple cabinets as well as regretting that I paid $1000 more than I should have."

"Jane and Brandon are outstanding people to work with and truly live up to their company's name. 
We made an appointment with Jane to meet us in our (one bathroom) condo which my sister had lived in for more than 30 years. Jane listened to what we wanted, which turned out to be a full remodel!  She took some measurements, and promised to get back to us in a few days with a plan and cost estimate. We were also concerned about losing the "bathroom functionality" as we had no back-up, but she assured us they could do something to keep us "going" while the renovation was going on.  Thanks to her advice, suggestions, and support, the bathroom was spot on in terms of the timing of the job, and, more importantly, cost. Her suggestions between the bathroom fixtures, cabinetry, paint, tile flooring, and accessories, were perfect for what we were looking for.  She also served as point person with neighbors and such as the work at times impacted other owners. 
Her partner, Brandon, and his team were meticulous in every aspect of the rework, both during and after the renovation.  They were perfectionists ... and this was especially evident in our small bathroom where every detail is so obvious.  Not to mention that he was so polite, respectful, and caring as he came in and out of the condo regularly. 
Our new bathroom is stunning!  We are very happy with it.  "

"Fabulous! Mike Tran (owner) is a gem. He is talented, hard working, dedicated, responsive, has a crew of men who are same. My 125 year old floors are now restored to their original oak beauty. I did not anticapate that they could look so great. After their terrific refinishing job, Mike and his crew work hard and patiently to leave everything vacummed as best they can, move all furniture back to exactly where you want it. They even offered to come back in a couple of weeks when one rug is returned from the cleaners to put it back in the dining room! We can do it, but that is the level of service and wanting you to feel your house is the way it was before that Mike aims to accomplish when he finishes. My kitchen ended up being much harder to demo than he anticipated, but he didn't give up and the results are great. I wish I could find other services like Mike Tran's Universal Hardwood Floors! He is superb. If this reads like I am a relative or friend, I am not. I am a 30 year resident of a Brookline Victorian home, neglected floors for way too long, and so pleased with the fine work, beyond all my expectations that Mike delivers. The floors are beautiful and Universal Hardwood is a great company to deal with. I couldn't be more pleased."
