"John did a phenomenal job installing not one, but two EV charging stations, a sub panel and running the wire in wall to the basement panel for a clean, professional installation."

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.

"Jerry and a second gentleman arrived about 8:30 AM and were both courteous and professional.  Very easy to talk to.
I spoke with Jerry and he explained everything they were going to do.  He asked if I wanted a regular cleaning or a "stain prep", which would be if I was going to stain the house, and since that was part of my plan, I took the stain prep.
They immediately got started and were done in about two hours.  They were so quiet when they left, I almost didn't hear them leave.  They did a very good job and left no mess.
The only reason I gave a "B" for quality was it looked as if they could have done a better job on my front porch, but the rest of the house they did an excellent job.  The front porch may simply been extremely bad, so it may take a lot of scrubbing/sanding to really clean it up.
Upon my request, Jerry offered a good price to stain my house, which I am considering.
Suggestion:I think it might be better when the homeowner is home at the time of service, that once the job is completed, Cinderella Painting should touch base before they leave, and mention any trouble spots they encountered so there won't be any misunderstandings."

"On all of the replacements or repairs there was a time period of 1 -3 weeks for the repairman. They were all professional . You have to read the contract , I missed the electric part and had to pay for it myself so read your warranty ."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in South-newfane, VT

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
