Nathan understood exactly what we wanted, knew our budget parameters and provided us with a range of options that helped us stay within what we were seeking to spend. We wanted it to be NICE, but didn't need to over-do any of the finishes and spend needlessly on areas that were going to be used in-frequently. The end result was fantastic. The workmanship was of the highest order, the job was executed efficiently and with constant communication and oversight. The whole job was stress free and delivered on time. "Our initial meeting with Suj was great. Initially, we had in mind a much larger job. He had quoted us $3000 for the closet demolition / wall rebuild (non-load bearing), packaged with several other items. Together with the fee for drawings ($4000) and permits, this was a bit higher than we anticipated. However, we decided to go with Suj due to his responsiveness and professionalism. Out of our other quotes, Suj’s pricing was middle of the pack - not the cheapest or most expensive. When the drawings were complete and evaluated, he gave us an updated cost of $6000 over text message. The scope of work had changed, and this was no longer part of a bigger project - understandable. The issue was when he gave us the official estimate a week later and up’d the price once again to $9000. When asked what happened, his exact words were “well, I need to get paid too”. He had weeks to consider before quoting the $6000 and nothing had changed since then. The extra $3000 may be insignificant compared to most renovation costs, but for us in our first home, this was back breaking. We continued with Suj since we were already locked in and well past the 3 day cancellation period. Their work for the most part was exceptional. The new wall blended perfectly into our existing structure, and the ceiling patch was also well done. The problem here was the floor. They had dug up a 1” deep pit in the floor, likely to remove the wall studs. However, they did not patch the floor or even let us know this was going to be an issue. We were never told about the pit until I decided to check in on their progress one day towards the end of the wall build. This required us to pay a handyman to come in next day on a weekend to patch the concrete since we had cabinets being installed the following Tuesday. Suj was aware of this and did not believe it pertinent information. Overall, Suj and SoCal Builders do quality work, but the issues in pricing consistency lost us before the work even started. Not even telling us that we’d be left with a 1” deep pit in our floor after was another huge issue which should’ve been brought up much earlier. This was our first experience with a contractor and I’m not sure if this is typical or not. However, it’s enough to make me doubt I’d contact them for any future work."

"We are thrilled with Axe Construction! From their initial bid and our first meeting we felt Tomer was honest and transparent and he continued to prove us right throughout the entire build of our ADU. The AXE team is efficient and detail oriented. They deliver what they promise. Our foreman, Enrique, was on top of it. He would visit the site daily to make sure everything was running smoothly and on schedule. Both Tomer and Enrique were easy to get a hold of and quick to stop by if we needed to discuss anything in person. 5 stars, A++."

"Mike Mamen called back within the hour. Next day I showed him the problems with my 90-year-old garage's roof and wiring. He tell me that existing 2x4 rafters could be sistered rather than replaced with 2x12. Additional 2x6 tie beams across garage. He recommended all new shingles, garage door, side door, window, lights, and outlets. Exterior paint on stucco and wood trim. Mike recommended replacing the house 100A electric service panel with 200A, in addition to trenching a conduit between house and garage. He also recommended grading behind the garage to route water away from its foundation. Also, adding gutters and downspouts to both the garage and house. Later we discovered that the house's facia needed to be replaced. He drove me to two current job sites, introduced his crew, and showed the work being done. Mike is knowledgable, direct, friendly, and talkative. Listens to my concerns and ideas, then presents options and his recommendations. Responds to later questions and text messages. Knows local building codes and permitting process. Works by the book -- written contract proposals describe the job and materials. Flexible in handling changes and unexpected glitches. Does minor tasks gratis. Personally attends inspections. Likewise, foreman and electrician Luis is friendly and competent. I am pleased with the competence and results of MF Construction and Design. The entire job took about seven weeks. It was more expensive than I would have thought. OTOH I did not get other bids."

"Trig Builders is an excellent one-stop shop for mainly excellent design, great help in selecting final materials/accessories and mainly for any complete home remodeling. Our master bathroom and kitchen needed to be completely demolished and redesigned. Yossi met with us several times and by listening to us and to what we want to get, he was able to come up with a new concept that included all the ideas and goals of what we wanted to have and his design was very clean, modern while still be within our budget. Yossi also managed and handled all the orders and purchased of the materials and final accessories which caused us to write this review because this was an excellent service. The bathroom was gutted and after the demolition, Yossi and his guys discovered that the floor support beams were damaged so we had to replace them with new ones and to have the floor leveled before they could start the new construction. This problem caused the budget increased by a small cost (Yossi charged us only for the materials) for the overall budget. All the professional people that were involved in the work including the plumber, drywall man, electrician and tile man were excellent and skilled people that executed their part in a very high level of work results. They were very careful about all the cleaning aspect by dropping cloths, plastic wraps for the floors. The kitchen was completely redesigned and Yossi was able to include everything we wanted and needed. He went with us prior to the work and helped us purchasing all the materials appliances. The remodeling job was a week behind the original schedule because of the floor problem and due to few days when we had to leave the house for personal reasons on top of complications in getting the necessary inspections completed. We must mention here that any of the delays was not caused because of Trig Builders fault. We are very happy and satisfied with Yossi, the workers and all the skilled people and mainly Trig Builders as the company and we highly recommend them."

"My wood balcony has termites and water damages. So I hired RET to do the job. Kevin gave estimates and recommended composite planks for floor and red woods for railings. His workmanship was very professional and finished on time! On top of that, Kevin updated my balcony to the latest building codes. His price is very reasonable. If you want cheap prices and lousy jobs,hire someone else! Highly recommended!"
