"We installed a Patio Enclosures sunroom on our home 16 years ago to extend the seasons we could enjoy our patio and to keep mosquitoes and inclement weather at bay. The enclosure has performed well through 16 years, complimenting our home’s aesthetic appeal, and increasing its resale value. Now that we’re building a new home we definitely included a three season enclosure in our plan. It was a pleasure working with Andrew Mulichak in the West Seneca, NY office who helped us design an enclosure to compliment our new home’s appearance and add to its functionality, making it feel like an extension of our home. We look forward to the convenience and functionality the enclosure will add to our new home. And we know we can rely on a quality product with expert installation. We highly recommend Patio Enclosures."

"Professional staff. Steadily working, minimal noise and/or disruption to daily activities. They answered all questions and addressed any issue, no matter how small, with the project. My new front porch is just what I wanted. Quality work! I hope to hire them again in the future."

"Blue Spruce Property Management was super helpful in removing 3 trees in close proximity to my building! They were the most reasonably priced among all of the other quotes I received. They also were the most prompt in their ability to schedule in a timely manner! Mostly, I appreciated that they were very confident about how they would remove the trees without the need for cranes or other heavy equipment that wouldn't have fit in my driveway. This father/son duo traveled an hour away to help us out. Thank you guys for everything!"

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.

"Where to begin... I live in a HOA development in Rockport and was in desperate need of bathroom renovations. At my father's recommendation, I used HomeAdvisor and found Ken. And thank god I met Ken. Ken is incredibly professional, responsive, communicative, and explains EVERYTHING he does. He is a lifesaver and our bathroom is stunning: he actually gave us recommendations and even went as far to help get us a refund on some overage tile from Lowes. I don't even know family members who would go out of their way for you like Ken does. Ken is so awesome, he is coming back for our second bathroom. And we are thinking of other home improvement projects for Ken such as closet re models, etc. We love Ken. Thank you for being you."

"They gave us a week of their time when the weather reports called for rain. They paid no attention to instructions that came with our shower stall, which they admitted was different than ones they usually installed. They were offended when my husband told them they were installing it incorrectly. He had to insist that they put extra Sheetrock behind the stall, called for in instructions. The shower stall has a bow front with curved glass doors. The surround would have to be plumb for these doors to fit and now the largest feature of the shower, which cost over $1000, resides in my garage. They used the wrong caulk all around the shower stall. It started to come out after a week and husband had to take out what was left and redo it with the proper caulk. When it came to painting, many nail dents were not filled, or were filled but not sanded. There were many spots of thin roller applications or missed spots. I guess the bottom line would be: donâ t use York if you, or they, have time constraints."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in South Thomaston, ME

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
