"We bought a house a year ago with a pretty young architecturally-shingled roof, so imagine our surprise when we noticed a leak inside our attic crawl space dripping down into our dining room ceiling! UGH. Our friends had just had their roof replaced by Viola so they gave us their contact information, along with some other roofers they had gotten quotes from. Brian w/Viola provided (by far!) the fastest and most detailed estimate for us, which included pulling off the layers of shingles around our dormer windows and redoing the flashing, and the replacing the shingles. The price was fair considering the work that needed to be done. The only downside was that they wouldn't be able to complete the repair for 4-5 weeks. However, after only a week, we got an email from him saying they'd be doing the work for us in just a couple of days! That was a great surprise. The crew was on time and well prepared. They even covered our flower bushes without us having to ask. They cleaned up really well after themselves, too. The shingles they used match our existing ones perfectly; you can't even tell that a repair happened. While they were there, we also had them replace some fascia that we had been planning to take care of in a year or two anyway. That looks good as well. HOPEFULLY we won't need any more roof repairs for a very long time!!! But I won't hesitate to recommend them to friends, and when it comes time for us to replace the existing roof, we will call them first."

"John Darling, the company owner, responded promptly to our request for a quote. He gave us great advice about how to go about repairing our front porch that was composed of brick and flagstones; he suggested replacing the brick with bluestone, which was in keeping with our front stair approach to the front walkway. He told us the flagstone walkway and stone wall could be repaired. John arranged for his team members, Brian and JC, to begin work on our schedule. The project went exceedingly well. We were told the work would take 5 days; it took 6 days because of some small issues along the way, e.g. rotted wood where the porch met the house, the mason's delivery truck left an oil spill on our driveway that needed to be removed. They were clean, quiet, respectful, and diligent in their work, and John checked in with us periodically to make sure all was going well. Importantly, once completed, we were charged no more than the estimate John had originally given us for the project, in spite of the additional work. Our new porch is beautiful, and the repaired walkway and stone wall are completely in keeping with the originals. We highly recommend JD Masonry, without reservation!"

"Had a great experience with Downeast Chimney Sweep! The rep was very knowledge and professional. Our home inspector had recommended cleaning and examination of chimney flues. We don’t have a fireplace but were told that it’s important to clean the exhaust flue since we have gas heat. Downeast chimney explained that we have a direct vent gas furnace and since it doesn’t use the chimney, we don’t need to do anything. Did not try to sell us things we don’t need. Highly recommend them!"

"What I thought was going to be a painful process turned into a pleasant experience. Mr. Flynn was very timely in giving me a quote, supplying information about the materials, paperwork such as insurance certificate , and not subbing out the job. Mr. Flynn's crew was here at 7:50 AM. Stopped for lunch at 11:30 returned to work promptly at 12:30 and was finished with the job by 3. They were all very professional and courteous. The clean up was impeccable. Mr. Flynn and his crew know how to run a business. Kudos to Robyn too for all her help. Great Company!"
