"These guys are awesome, hands down. They came to my house quickly and did a full inspection and quote the same day. Started work two weeks later and rebuilt both of my crumbling chimneys beautifully. Nelson, Kevin, Segundo, and Carlos - you are all excellent!"

"Everything was excellent.  John came out the next day and gave me a fair estimate for the work I knew needed to be done.  John was very nice and professional.  He dismantled old chimney, as it was past the point of repair. He replaced the flashing free of charge just done by the roofers a few months prior because it was not up to his standards after he inspected it up close.  The entire chimney was rebuilt with new bricks. The design and workmanship was excellent.  A new stainless steel cap and flue was installed.  John had to set up extensive staging and took care not to damage the new roof that was just installed.  Everything was clean and neat after he was done.  The entire project took three days.  I was very happy with the work, and I will be using John for maintenance for as long as I own the home.

"Roofing was replaced on the entire house with four new skylights installed, as well. The job was well done in a timely manner and the trash hauled away. The price was fair and we are pleased with the work. So far no leaks. We don't expect any."

"The owner gave me an estimate which I thought was a little high but was pleasant, seemed qualified, didn't ask for down payment and told me I should beware of anyone who did expect money before job was done. Not being someone who does chimney work, I had to take him at his word for what needed to be done. I told him there was water running down into my cellar and "I" thought it was because there were a few spots on my chimney where the mortar was old, loose, missing. He told me the chimney had to be taken down to roof level and completely rebuilt. He was convincing, I hired him. The morning he arrived he had a hard time backing his open work trailer into my driveway, it's fairly narrow, just wide enough for my small SUV. He damaged one side of my wooden gate, along with a scrape on the side of his truck. I actually thought (stupidly) that he would contact me about repairing the gate, but after A YEAR I guess I should give up on that. I was surprised after the job was finished that he didn't use new bricks, they all look old and used, probably all the ones he removed as he took down my chimney. When a friend stopped by, looked up, said, "oh, I thought you hired someone to rebuild your chimney, guess not, looks like the old one." And quite OBVIOUSLY, the water running down into the cellar has to do with a few roof shingles, NOT the chimney....rain continued to run down in the same area. WOULDN'T YOU THINK A "PROFESSIONAL" CHIMNEY REPAIR PERSON WOULD KNOW THAT??!! After the job was done, there was a lot of cement powder/dust in the driveway which SHOULD have been JUST swept up but the "assistant" turned the hose on it basically just enough to wet it, it eventually dried and there were several large off-white blotches of dried cement sitting for about a month or more. For $1,950.00 , I think he got paid way too much and wasn't as honest and forthright as I first thought. The rain WAS NOT running down into the cellar because of some missing or loose mortar, he SHOULD have known that. According to Home Depot, bricks are pretty cheap. And one side of my wooden gate remains damaged and no longer closes properly. As an older person, retired and definitely not wealthy, this put a strain on my budget. One more example of life's crappy lessons."

"I contacted Home Facelifters to remove a small concrete barrier from my garage, to repair the porch at the end of my house that was developing cracks and holes around the foundation, and to perform a couple of handyman tasks (replace a doorknob and replace smoke detectors). Joe replied to my inquiry and came out to give me an estimate within a couple of days of when I contacted him. When he and his crew started working on the porch repair they found that the problems were much more extensive than originally anticipated. The porch was actually pulling away from the house, and as the crew started to work on the porch they found a couple of large cracks running the length of the foundation under the floor of the porch, making it unsafe. It was clear to all of us that the porch would have to be replaced. Joe quickly came up with some estimates and found a solution to retain the roof over one end of the porch. He proposed replacing the porch with a new deck. The crew supported the roof on the side of the porch and removed the underlying porch and the concrete slabs. They dug holes for new piers and footing and poured concrete. It was also discovered there was some old (not active) termite damage on the lower side of the house where the new deck would be attached (this was damage that was treated when I bought the house 16 years ago so it was no longer active but the bottom portion of part of that side of the house had to be repaired and reshingled). During the entire process Joe was great about communicating the latest set-back and keeping me up to date on additional expenses. In the end the crew built a beautiful new deck with railings up to code. The job was much more complicated than what I originally anticipated and ended up being more expensive but was necessary. I may have been able to get the work done elsewhere for slightly less money but I do not know that I would have received the same quality craftsmanship. Joe and his assistant were great to work with throughout the process. They communicated clearly about when they were going to show up and about the progress of the work. They worked long days, often after dark, in freezing cold weather but finished most of the work as quickly as possible. There are still a couple of things left to be done (painting and building stairs to the deck) but those things have to wait until warmer weather. This is the second time I have used Home Facelifters for a major project at my home, and I highly recommend them."

"Went well, very nice to deal with and informative.Came back when I called back because the smell of smoke was coming into the house. They checked it out and said everything was fine.Claimed it had something to do with the chimney being on the outside wall and the cold weather. The weather hadn't been that cold when it was happening and the chimney was not on the outside wall, maybe 7 feet away from the outside wall,so I don't quite understand the explanation.Again, very nice to deal with.
