"Carolina Mold Solutions called back, tested, assessed, cleaned and encapsulated our crawlspace this past year doing a great job quickly. I then had another worker breach the encapsulation this fall and Carolina Mold came by and did the repair without charging me....just an example of going the extra mile to take care of a customer. They are the best!"

"Ted from Biotek noted that since I had already done some home project work, the fix needed was actually something I could do myself. He gave great feedback on the root problem for moisture continuing to build up was the lack of a hose feeding to a vent from the bathroom fan, and that a simple dryer hose running to an existing vent exit in the attic would help on that front. He then gave steps on using a vinegar solution, elbow grease, and letting the area dry for several days (avoid that shower) after killing the existing mold, before applying a layer of mold sealing primer (like Killz). He saved me at least $2500 compared to some quotes I'd received to take care of the problem."

"Max was very polite and professional. Responded quickly and was able to perform an inspection the next day. Took the time to answer all questions during inspection and never seemed bothered by being asked about all potential contributors to mold in our residence. Would certainly use this company in the future."

"We were very, very pleased with the overall professionalism and knowledge of Emory at MoldStoppers. He was early to the appointment, quick to assess the area of concern, and he had us a quote later that day. He had a very good grasp of what needed to be done, and his quote was very reasonable for the space that needed remediation. We are waiting upon the seller's response to decide how to proceed, but we will look to use MoldStoppers if we have to pay for the repair ourselves. We would highly recommend them, and we will use them in the future."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Spartanburg, SC

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
