Our house is very well-built, but it did not conform to current code, and he was able to modify the repair to create a small (<2 inch) gap between the bottom of the stone wall and the concrete driveway, so the liklihood of future water damage (that had been caused by "wicking" of rainwater behind the wall) is now greatly diminished.
