"Tony is fantastic, he did a lot of projects in our home, drywall replacement, installed hardwood floors, painted, performed extensive work on our deck to make it safe & stable, repaired our French doors. He did a huge job of cleaning & detailing my Grandmothers house to sell (we got $40,000 over asking price). My son hired him to frame, drywall the basement in a house he bought. He framed in & installed a hanging microwave, framed in the dishwasher as well. All in all Tony is a great guy & does awesome work. Would absolutely hire him again."

Customers say: Quick response

"We added two rooms off the back of our 1959 two-story home wanting the addition to look like it was part of the original construction. Once we needed trim and molding work, we went to Angiâ s list and came up with 3 potential contractors. We chose Wolcott Construction as Ramey understood what we were wanting to accomplish and provided his input; which helped us attain our goal. Ramey is very detail oriented when it came to re-hanging our doors and framing in our two windows. We were especially impressed with the two custom thresholds he built to transition from the original to the new floor levels; which were about an 1-1/2 difference. The two other contractors had no idea how to make these transition thresholds. We would recommend Wolcott Construction for any project you may have. Ramey will be up front with you as to whether he can do it or not. In addition, he will ask you if this is what you had in mind before it becomes permanent. At the end of the day, we had a lot of work that needed to be done and he came through with flying colors. Ramey went above and beyond anything we had expected, and he cleans up after himself every day! He arrives when he says he will. He keeps you informed on progress daily and with what he will be doing the next day. We are thankful for finding Ramey!"

"Nathan did great work on our kitchen floor. It looks so nice. I would definitely recommend for kitchen or bathroom remodel. He also replaced our back slider door and front stairs. We are very pleased with the results and will be using again soon for future updates."

"My experience working with North Star Construction was top-notch. Mica, my primary contact through the project, was great to work with. It was nice to get progress status updates and detailed photos from her via email almost daily. Communication was good. They were responsive, professional, and the work they did looks really sharp. Final cost turned out to be more than estimated due to some rot discovered during the job, but I would certainly recommend NSC to anyone needing a quality re-roofing."

"Using Armon was the best decision I could have made. I have had numerous occasions where my hired contractor didn’t meet my expectations. Armons was not one of them, he started when he said he would. Kept me informed at every step, and finished in a very timely manner. I would recommend him to anyone needing work done."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Spokane, WA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
