"We had to replace a section of our cabinets due to a very bad mold problem, due to moisture coming from a leaking dishwasher. Countertop Services walked us through the process very professionally, and finished the job in two days. They even told me what to do to fix my dishwasher, as I had decided to do it myself. It’s been about three weeks now, and my dishwasher runs perfectly. Will definitely hire them again to work on the remaining cabinets. Thanks!"

"Mr. Vasquez came to the house for an estimate. He sat down with us & asked for as many details as possible. He gently offered advise when we were unsure of an answer. He got us an estimate in a very timely manner. We had 2 other contractors come out for an estimate. J & D was not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. We did feel that the price was a little steep at the time. (the end result went above & beyond the price) When we decided to go with them, he stayed in contact with me & came to the sight daily. During the construction, I decided to add crown molding & other detail molding on the walls, as well as painting. Mr. Vasquez did not blink an eye, he graciously called in his painter & completed the request. The project took less than a week to complete (even with the add on's). My house was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The completed shelves look as if they were constructed with the house. The gutters were a must with the rain & elevation of the new built house. The price was slightly lower than other bids we had gotten. My husband said his only regret was that we didn't find J & D before we built our house, that we would have had them build the entire house. I simply could not be more please with the outcome. Every employee was incredibly nice, and professional. The cabinet doors on the book shelves were custom made & the detail is flawless. I honestly can not say enough about this company. It was worth every single penny, and then some! We will be using them again for other projects around the house. I know I will not be disappointed."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired them because they were on Angie list. Best experience I've ever had with a contractor in Houston. I was scared because I hate dealing with contractors...no offense. These guys were good and reasonably priced. They did my sheetrock after the plumbing repairs were completed after that freeze shit show."

"Our kitchen is 35 years old and needed to be reconfigured. We elected to modify the existing cabinets and pantry rather than totally ripping out and replacing. Rafael worked with us to redesign most of the drawers and cupboards - their size and functionality. Rafael then removed all the doors and drawers and reconfigured for the new arrangement. While we had the kitchen painted Rafael built all new drawers, new front panels and new cabinet shelves and doors to suit the new arrangement. The original cabinet structures had been built in place and had their "anomalies", things not quite square, not quite plumb. To make all the new doors and drawers fit properly, Rafael needed to do minute adjustments to his doors and drawers to make it all look exactly right. This he did. The kitchen looks great! Rafael and his son, Seth, would put in long days, working quietly and always cleaning up after each day's work. There was one hitch in the work. Rafael had the new doors and drawer faces made by another man who was set up to do this type of work. In the middle of our job, Harvey flooded many houses (not ours) and the other man got seriously backed up with new work; so our doors and drawers were delayed several weeks. The finished kitchen is now a joy to work in. It has a thoroughly modern look. We love it. I can highly recommend Rafael. He is very easy to work with and is a really nice man who is very honest and trustworthy."

"Jose brought a team and they began working on replacing the smoke detectors, replacing the diverter and tub stopper - which turned into a trial as the diverter was an old piece and he had to go all over town to find a replacement. He installed electrical GFCI outlets in the kitchen, two baths, one in garage and one outside - and went above and beyond by replacing the receptacle housings as well. He also found a leak behind the tub and repaired it after asking permission. the cost was very reasonable and it would have cost me three times as much with a plumber. I would use Jose again and have recommended him to my realtor and other friends. Great job!"

"Roberto is an excellent project manager. There were no delays in his pre-defined schedule (in fact, they performed faster than anticipated). He was very honest and up front about the scope of the work including cost, arrival / departure times, and constantly checked on progress and sent us pictures via text. He was extremely patient with all of our questions and anxieties as the work progressed, and consistently reassured us. Any large project in a home can be stressful, and Roberto did an incredible job of reassuring us and ensuring the work was performed above and beyond our expectations. The contractors hired by Roberto were extremely courteous and took pride in their work. They took time to ensure it was perfect. In fact, the gentleman who tiled our bathroom was especially impressive as he went above and beyond to ensure every tile was expertly cut and placed (there was some complex/intricate tile work as part of the scope). Each crew showed up as scheduled, and to the extent there were scope changes, the crews always returned promptly to perform additional work. Roberto took lots of time to perform measurements, assist us with selecting materials / design, and most importantly, would tell us up front about any design/installation issues that might arise with our choices, so we were able to make a decision up front about whether a certain material was right for us / our home. The work was beautifully designed and installed. It has taken us quite a while to actually write this review, but hopefully that is more helpful for readers, as we have lived in the house where work was performed for 6 months now. We could not be happier with our kitchen, and we have had no issues with any of the installation or other work performed, now 6 months after completion. Thank you Roberto & Solid Stone Manufacturing. I would highly recommend Roberto and will utilize him for any future remodel project."

FAQs for cabinets repair projects in Stafford, TX

The timeframe for kitchen cabinet removal varies significantly based on quantity and installation complexity. Professional contractors typically complete standard kitchens within 4 to 8 hours, though complicated configurations involving plumbing or electrical components may extend to 1 to 2 days. Homeowners tackling this as a DIY project should allocate substantially more time—often 1 to 3 full days—as careful extraction requires methodical work to prevent property damage.

Kitchen cabinets can indeed be salvaged for reuse when removed carefully. Construction material significantly impacts success rates—hardwood cabinets generally survive extraction better than composite materials, which tend to chip or break. For optimal preservation, document the original layout, remove doors and hardware first, then methodically detach units from walls and adjacent cabinets. Professional removal significantly increases the likelihood of successful cabinet preservation.

Disposal options for kitchen cabinets depend largely on their condition and your local waste management regulations. Cabinets in reasonable condition might find new homes through donation centers or online marketplaces. For damaged units, professional waste removal services offer convenience, while dumpster rentals provide flexibility for larger projects. Some municipalities offer special collection services for bulky items, though advance scheduling is typically required.

Wall damage during cabinet removal represents a legitimate concern for many homeowners. The risk varies based on installation methods—cabinets attached directly to drywall without backing supports pose greater challenges than properly mounted units. Professional removal minimizes damage through specialized techniques and appropriate tools. Even with careful extraction, expect some minor wall repairs. Older installations and homes with plaster walls require particularly delicate handling to prevent significant damage.
