"I could not believe how quickly this company responded to my request and in resolving our problem. Everyone involved in this project were so professional. "After water damage to one of my rooms and total dissatisfaction with my insurance companies choice. I hired Multi-serv united vet. THEY WERE GREAT. They were professional and stayed in constant contact with me during the process from asbestos removal, repairing the room from the removal of wet floors and wall to installing new floor. I could not have asked for better service. I highly recommend them as your choice for all issues involving any of the above mentioned jobs they did for me. Thank you, Luis, Jaime and Jessica for the work you did for me"

"I write this review not only as a home owner but with the knowledge of having been a Connecticut home improvement contractor myself for many years when I was younger. Celestin came out and quoted us to remove an old floor that contained asbestos. His price was reasonable and he was completely professional. We did not have the ability to print and sign the contract once it was emailed to us so he took the time to drive from Trumbull to Manchester a second time to bring us a hard copy of the contract to sign. The next day he again made the long trip to the home to do the job, much earlier than we had anticipated which was a God send for our needs. In our case he was able to get the job done in a completely professional manner in about six hours. We could not have chosen a better company to do business with. He sealed off all the points of entry as well as all the interior walls and cabinets and used a ventilation system to completely control the air flow into and out of the work area during the process. We paid him when the job was complete and would absolutely use him again and highly recommend American Environmental Services for Asbestos removal. He does what he says and is on time and as promised. Great contractor and person."

"Mike Bowerman was friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgable His estimate was professional, thorough, and in line with the costs of mold abatement, which can be an expensive proposition. His crew did an excellent job preparing my small apartment and making sure that no mold escaped during abatement. They left the site mold free, as a follow up air test proved."

"I got John's name from Angie's list and got in touch with him on just the great reviews he received on here.  I got in touch with him through here and he got back to me right away.  What a nice, honest, sincere person.  The minute I met him I felt very comfortable with him and knew right away that I would use his services.  He inspected the basement for mold which he did find.  Not much mold but enough to see it on the molding.  After asking him if he could recommend someone (he did not offer the names - I asked for them) he gave me the name of two people that I could contact.  I contacted three people and finally went for one of the recommendations he suggested (who was also great by the way). From start to finish it took about two weeks time in total - once the remediation was complete, John came back and did an air quality test which came out fine.  If I ever need this type of work done again in the future (I'm hoping I'm not - no offense John) - I would definitely use him again.  He was great!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! <br />"

"My inspection was excellent. Ed Neyland walked me through the home and gave me very in depth details on all aspects of the home I was looking to purchase. He gave me a lot of recommendations to maintain and improve the house. When I left I had a very good understanding of what I was buying and what would need to be taken care of immediately. I received the report the very next day and it was just as impressive as the inspector himself. But what really stood out to me was when I called a few days later for advice on a repair that he recommended; his office was just as pleasant as the day I called to schedule the inspection. Ed called me back that day and once again answered my questions. I would highly recommend AC&E Home Inspection Corp."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Stamford, CT

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
