"I am pleased to recommend International Brick and Concrete(IBC) and Rigo Ortez for all asphalt related work. My wife and I needed a driveway overlay due to severe cracking in our 20 year old+ driveway. We called and then interviewed a number of contractors from the area, none of whom were particularly responsive and all of whom were a bit evasive regarding price, specific work to be done and timing. We each separately described our feelings about these contractors as “sketchy”. Rigo was immediately different – he was obviously professional and directly answered all questions. He responded to our message within an hour, showed up to our appointment on time, answered all questions clearly and concisely, provided a proposal within a few hours of our meeting and then completed the job the following week on the day agreed. "Ground Effects has performed two projects for us. Initially they had constructed a paver patio, retaining wall and paver sidewalk in 2014. The second project in 2022 consisted of a fire pit, retaining wall, drainage and driveway improvements around a newly constructed barn. The work was outstanding on all projects. Josh managed the work on site. His employees were skilled, polite, and cleaned up everyday. The finished area was landscaped and sod/seeded. "Apex Masonry is awesome. We started with a repair of my front stairs so that I could feel comfortable with their work after my previous contractor. Awesome job! After that Apex managed to fit me in with phases to complete the previous installation. The phases were reparging basement walkout, finishing back stairs steps, walls, caps with lighting, and modification of pathway to an extended patio surface, the patio pavers, toppers to columns, wall caps and lighting. The last phase was the retaining wall completion with lights and caps. After paving and fill dirt my project is completed after 2 yrs + start time. "We have worked with Lorena and Diego on numerous projects on our property - a half-bath buildout in our basement, exterior door and window replacements, and a master bath reno. They are honest and hardworking and provide some of the most reasonable quotes we've seen from other contractors. On this project, DGL worked on floors, doors, and ceilings, and installed canned lighting and fans in our upstairs rowhome rooms in DC. Diego and his team got straight to work at the scheduled date and quick progress was made of demolition and installation. His team was respectful of the place and did an adequate job controlling dust and debris throughout the rest of the house. DGL hired a few subcontractors as well for the job. To refinish our oak stairs and pine floors upstairs, the crew sanded and stained to our specifications (Monocoat), which came out looking great. We'd hoped they could clean up some of the old/decayed wood filler, but we realize it's complicated in a 90-year old home. DGL also hired a plumber to cut and cap a pipe for us, for which I believe we were charged way too much. I don't blame DGL, but the plumber was out of hand with his pricing. We had an electrician run new lines to each of the bedrooms, which resulted in massive chunks of wall being torn out. DGL's team did the drywall/plaster repair and made it look perfect. We were very impressed with their work. Ultimately, DGL truly transformed our upstairs and we are extremely pleased with the result. We'd highly recommend working with DGL for home projects and will continue working with them in the future."
