"We were going to pass.  After I bought the deal I called to see how much they charge for certain things and they have not told me over the phone.  They just wanted outlay on that day for their work.  Well, what I ended up getting the big deal for and what they ended up doing was changing two light fixtures because it was so expensive.  I think I paid more than the big deal because I emailed them that I still have work for them to do and they could have done two light fixtures but it was going to be a different charge, like a $80 extra for what I actually wanted them do."

"They set up times to do it and couldn’t show because of weather and moved me to the bottom of the list for scheduling.  When they showed up they didn’t have the correct wreath . I had agreed to pay extra.  They also wrapped some lights around trees and about two days later one of the strings went out and they said there was nothing they could do about that.  When they came out to take them down they essentially ripped everything down."

"I was extremely impressed with the electrician's professionalism as well as his knowledge of how to complete the installation in a space that was not previously wired and had concrete ceilings.  He was very thorough and was reasonable with the cost of the supplies needed to complete the installation.  I would highly recommend him to friends and will call him again for any future electrical needs I have in my home.

"The guys at 2HireAHandyman did a great job. The project ended up being much more complex than all parties initially anticipated but these guys continued to move forward with the requests with a smile on their face. I was thoroughly impressed with how professional they carried themselves as well as how informative they were on what was taking place. By taking the extra time to explain all the issues at hand it gave the wife and I a sense of comfort that things were being done correct. I would highly recommend 2HireAHandyman to any of my friends and plan on using their service again when need be. Great work guys!

"The project had an estimated 1 week

completion time and a cost estimate of approximately $5,000 plus

hardscape ground cover and fill dirt. We chose the more expensive

ground cover option and made a slight change in the design that cost

a few hundred more dollars. Jeff is very meticulous in design and

material placement, and when he is present on the job site all goes

well; however, on the occasions he was away on other jobs, I had to

keep a close eye on work progress. The 2 men who worked on our

project were tireless and only stopped for a short lunch break each

day. The close eye to which I refer is (1) stone cutting-which

should be very precise, and (2) walkway design-which we put to a halt

until Jeff could personally supervise?without Jeff in attendance,

the precision and attention to detail suffered. In the end, the

project took 3 weeks to complete (there were a few rainy days and a

few days the work crew was diverted to other jobs), so actual work

days totaled about 10 days. In the end, I was very satisfied with

the product and recommend JB & Sons. I will definitely use them

on my next project.

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Stockbridge, GA

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
