"I recently hired Indiana Foundation to make repairs on my house. Andrew P and Dustin W showed up on time, were very processional, polite and explained to me what the project entailed. I would recommend them to others who need to have foundation work done on their homes"

"Within an hour of contacting him, Patrick came to my condo unit for FREE to evaluate the sump pump system.  Another plumber had previously given a rather incomprehensible quote based on his own past work on the building. Patrick was able to explain the other contractor's quote and clearly explain what type of system was in each unit (a point that had not previously been made completely clear).
Within 15 minutes of evaluating the actual sump pump and the other contractor's quote, Patrick was able to provide an apples to apples quote, a quote for an upgraded maintenance free system (an upgrade the condo board is considering), and a quote for a long term money saving option that would create a continuity of sump pumps across the building and a easy of care and continued maintenance at a more reasonable price.
If it was completely up to me, I wouldn't bother hassling with trying to get two other quotes to appease the condo board policy. I would hire McDonagh & Sons.

"Marcus was absolutely great.  He was one of the only companies that could handle doing all the projects we needed, and to do it in a very high quality manor.  He was prompt when we called, worked hard to squeeze us into his schedule on a rush job needed before we moved in.  His price was not the lowest, but the quality of the work was exceptional.  The exterior paint and door look amazing and I'll discuss the interior work below.
They had to paint an entire 3700 sf house.  They did all the exterior work and interior painting in 2 weeks!  That's it!  Not only that, but it was done with primarily 2 people (Marcus included).  They worked hard and fast; took no lunch at times, and the quality was far superior to many other painters work I've seen.  For the little bit more we paid to go with him, it was worth every cent.
Marcus was honest and hard working and to make matters better they were on time and got the job done before their estimated time.  Long story short, you get what you pay for and the pride that Marcus takes in his work makes all the difference in the end result."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Stockland, IL

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
