"Organiclean is in their third year of cleaning for me, and I couldn't be happier! They clean both the commercial space and my personal space. Their attention to detail is outstanding, they work fast, and they clean better than I ever have! I love that they use environmentally-sensitive products. They understand my needs, communicate clearly with me, and work with me on scheduling when time is tight. I love how all of their employees are carefully vetted and trained by the owner. They all speak fluent English, and have always been courteous, alert, and communicative regarding questions or concerns about every aspect of the cleaning process. They are all trustworthy in every sense. I plan to use Organiclean for as long as we are both in business. Highly recommended!"

"It went very well. I contacted this artist to create a stunning and lifelike self portrait. I then sent photos and payment. In less than a week I had a stunning rendition of myself in both pencil and watercolor. Lance is always courteous and professional. I highly recommend his services to everyone and will do business with him again soon!"

"The jobs took a few days in total. We had them do 2 phases to our project. They were pretty much on time and did exactly what we wanted. Shannon was very professional and helpful. We will probably be using them to do the rest of our front area in the spring. I would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"In a word, badly. Promised calls never returned. Pathetic communications. Job started after need by date. Non-english speaking work crew did not pre-paint adapters or above grade drain pipes. Crew used my drain pipes and adapters that they were required to supply. Crew did not remove downspout 45 elbows. Crew painted pop-up valves white (wrong). Joints to downspouts looked terrible: One adapter was not inserted into the drain pipe above grade. More un-retunred calls to re-schedule to fix all screw-ups. Returning crew did not have all parts to properly complete rework resulting in more delays. Final install was acceptable. Cannot recommend this company to anyone. Management is horrible."

"The cost includes new strings of lights, and the tree I have them put them on gets taller every year, so there's always more lights.  They come and put them up, and then January the 6th they come and take them down.  They put them all along the roof line, and then I have a Blue Spruce out front that they decorate, put the lights on.  And then if I have any yard things, they hook them up so that everything's on a timer, so that they come on at the same time every day and go off at the same time every day.  That includes the timers; they put the timers on and set the timers.  I'd give them an A across the board.  For the price, I don't know what anybody else would charge.  I love the lights up and my husband can't get up on the ladder anymore to do it.  That's part of what I like about him adding that to his schedule; is that it helps him keep people on the payroll longer, because landscaping is a seasonal business.  So by adding, doing the Christmas lights and outside lights, it helps him keep his own employees on the payroll longer.  I think that's a good thing. "

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Street, MD

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
