"We reached out and were able to coordinate Francisco coming out for a quote. Got a quote that day. We decided to move forward a few days later and they started that week. "I started by calling a couple of the foundation companies, but they tried to make me think my house was sinking to its ruin and wanted me to spend over $20,000 to make rock solid repairs! Fortunately I have common sense, and started calling brick masons instead. I found Hipp on Angie's List and called for an estimate. He came out, looked at the area where I had issues, and then walked around the house looking at other smaller problems. He suggested digging to the footer on the front corner, installing jacks, and trying to raise the foundation to its proper level. He also recommended re-pointing some of the other smaller areas and replacing my slooping front porch concrete. I opted for the foundation and all the brick work, leaving the porch for later. When they first attempted to lift the foundation, some cracks started to re-open around the windows on the inside, so I asked them to stop and just stabilize at that point. The replacement windows had been installed about 15 years ago and were aligned to the slope, and worked perfectly. They did an excellent job, and I am extremely pleased with the work!! Chuck even dabbed some paint on some bricks that had been damaged by a power washer, so that they would match the other bricks. He left me the paint so that I can later "dab" around bricks stained from the wash down of my aluminum siding. This is a small company (just three of them I think), and I had to call several times to get set up. And it took a while for them to get to my job. This is why the C for responsiveness. But once they started, they were prompt and professional, well worth the wait! I opted to wait on the porch work, but will hire them to do that soon. Note: I have found that the best contractors are the small, hands-on companies. They are all hard to reach, and take a while to schedule, but they tend to be fair, and do the best work!"

"Donnie and his TEAM (2 other workers) did a GREAT job! Initial communication(s) was via email - always providing prompt responses and scheduled on a day that I requested. They showed up on time (actually a few minutes early) and left once I was satisfied. The work took several hours, and during that timeframe, they were always active - (no milling about smartly). Over 30 clear plastic bags (39 gallon) put out on the curb for city pick up. It was money WELL spent. I highly recommend Freedom Land Works. I will certainly be contacting / using Donnie & his TEAM again for similar services ... and other projects as well."

"As facilities maintenance coordinator for West Point Hunt Club, I was tasked to solicit bids for the repair of a foundation problem that was causing cracking in the block walls of the house. Bedrock Foundation Systems, Inc. was the first of three contractors that I contacted.
  
  Jim and Jason met with me on a Saturday and were on time, despite the fact that their company is based in Virginia Beach and our club is in the West Point area. Communication with them has been excellent and prompt.
  Both gentlemen were very cordial and took the time to thoroughly explain the cause of our problem, the method and materials they were going to use and also answered all of the questions I had for them. After meeting with the other two contractors I requested quotes from, they were the only one that took the time and were able to fully explain the conditions and the work necessary to re-stabilize the house. The scope of their work not only included the foundation lift, but also grinding out old mortar joints, tuck-pointing the mortar joints and replacing any  cinder blocks cracked during the course of the job, not so with the others. Bedrock handled all permits, called Miss Utility and also consulted with a Structural Engineer before any work was performed.
  The contract was sent promptly and was written in terms that were concise, easy to understand and explained the work in every detail. There were no "escape" clauses nor any hidden/overage costs at all, just a promise to perform all work as stated in a workman-like and professional manner. Bedrock is a family owned and operated company and it shows, even in the contract they submit.
  The workers came, in force, performed all of the work in half of the estimated time! The job site was clean, no trash or debris left behind. Great job!
  We have noticed some slight cracking in the block work around the area that was lifted and understand this is due to the building "settling in" after the lift.  We notified Bedrock of this and have told them that we will give the building a month or so before calling them back for repairs. They concurred and thanked us for our patience and understanding. I am fully confident they will be as prompt with repairs as they were in every other aspect of the process.
 Bedrock Foundation Systems, Inc was the highest bidder on this project, however, they were the only contractor to propose a turn-key job. No having to deal with a mason, no questions about who is responsible for any repairs or warranty claims, lifetime by the way, just a good "gut" feeling we have chosen the right contractor for our needs! Thanks, Jim, Jason and all employees at Bedrock who took part in the job. A job well done!
