"Every part of the process was strait forward. Call and schedule an appointment, get a quote over the phone. They showed up and did the job as described, very nice. He even cleaned a few spots on the carpet stairs for me free of charge.
To be fair I asked many questions during the quote process. (as I have had issues in the past with other companies )

"Don't get "sticker shock" over my cost, as we had 22 Persian carpets that had not been cleaned in 20 years.  I phoned 3 providers from your list.  Azim was the friendliest of all, explaining in detail how they would be doing the cleaning.  Plus they were the only ones that did everything the old Persian way, which is by hand.  We did not want any machines used in the cleaning process. The age of the carpets ranged from 50-75 yrs old.  So it was very important that they been cleaned the proper way.  We had a rare and old kilum that was breaking down on the fringe.  After it was restored it looked perfect!  We had one carpet that had a stain that was 16 years old and they restored it all by hand to nearly perfection.  My husband can't tell which corner it was, but I can slightly, but I know the corner.  I had told Azim if they could just get it 50% better I'd be happy, Azim said it wouldn't leave unless it was 80% better, I think it made 90%.  I did our order in 2 invoices.  Each one was done on time or earlier.  Azim, called with the progress. One order the new pads that were being cut for each were not in as Azim had expected.  The first pad delivery did not meet his standards, so he reordered and it was running behind schedule.  It was only 2 days.
The colors of each carpet became so vibrant after being cleaned.  It's so nice to have real pads and not the over the counter rubber ones that will ruin wood and stone floors.  Each pad is custom cut for each carpet, following all the curves and such of each. It feels so nice to walk across them and you feel the thickness. I still can't get over how beautiful they all look with the colors becoming so vibrant and back to their original look.  Azim and his staff made you feel welcome and treated like family.  We sat and had Persian tea and cookies on one trip I made to the shop.  Because I lived so close to the shop I dropped off and picked up the carpets.  Though when I picked up my first order, Azim sent one of his staff (at no charge) to carry the 11 carpets into the house and roll up the last 11 so I could drop them off and get the pricing.  I will now do as Azim recommends and have all our carpets cleaned every 5 years.  If you truly treasure and value your investment in your carpets you will only have Azim and his staff do the cleaning and repairing/restoring to maintain the value.

"I had already purchased the tile so just needed someone to do the installation. Got excellent help picking a grout that best matched the tile. The tilers arrived on time and did a great job removing the old flooring, preparing the floor, and laying the tile. When the work was complete however I noticed that the sliding closet doors no longer slid/moved, the carpet was not cut to match the tile for one bathroom, and their was a noticeable difference between the height of the hall carpet and the new tile in the other bathroom. The tilers told me it was not their job to fix these problems. It was able to fix the closet door problems myself. I however had to call Ideal and schedule another time for their carpet guy to come out and fix the carpet/tile transition issues for the two bathrooms. It was a week later when the carpet guys came out and they did a great job finishing the job. For the price paid I was expecting someone in the original crew to have taken care of these 3 items."

"From start to finish, The Woodlands store made carpet buying and installation a pleasant experience.  I had been dreading the process, but after reading reviews on Angie's List, my husband and I went to the store where Brenda helped us find a great carpet, on sale, and she was really wonderful work with.  We then scheduled a carpet measure, where great care was taken to place seams so they showed the least given the light, efficient use of the carpet, etc.  I was very impressed.
We bought the carpet in advance of the installation, as I wanted to take advantage of the sale, but wanted to wait until the last minute before our home went on the market to install it.  This definitely takes a leap of faith, but no worries!  Rebecca, the very nice scheduler, called to confirm our install date and it was installed exactly as planned.
Finally, the installers were kind, professional, and helpful.  Other than strip the bedding, I did not have to do anything but confirm that the furniture was put back in place as I'd had it beforehand.  We had a baby grand piano, dining table, king-sized 4-poster bed, and large highboy for them to move.  They were careful, fast, and I did not need to worry at all.  The process of returning the furniture to its proper place was made easier because the intelligent installers had somehow marked in advance where the large pieces went.
We got a great price for wonderful carpet, installed by kind, experienced installers (there was just one small carpet piece leftover, which they gave us).  We dealt with very kind, professional people every step of the way.  I cannot say enough good things about the entire process.  Of course, I would whole-heartedly recommend Flaherty's to anyone wanting new carpet.  Thank you to the whole team!

"Jordan, the manager was awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable of his product and was able to come and measure the house the very next day. The plan was for the installation to take five days. The installers for the tile were prompt and efficient. The install only took three days. The carpet installation only took six hours. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. They may be a bit pricy, but you definitely are paying for what you get: excellent service, diligent workers, and efficient installation."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sugar Land, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
