"I have to say that Once and Done did a great job. I had my sump pump fail on a Friday morning around 3AM. I got an alert of a leak in the basement. I put in a request on home advisor not even an hour later and by 7AM on Saturday morning I had a call to discuss the project. Once and Done and their team came out on a Sunday to get the problem fixed. Top notch customer service. Would highly recommend."

"<p>I live at the top of a small mountain range.  Roads are paved, but there are more than a few switchbacks and steep inclines to get here.  I contacted no less than ten companies trying to find someone willing to come up here to pump my septic tank.  Most wouldn't even return my call or used some central call center that couldn't provide any customer service at all.  The few return calls I got indicated they wouldn't come to the top of the mountain.  It was a very frustrating process until I found Powell's.  They answer their own phones, provided an appointment within two days of my call, called when on their way, arrived on time, and pumped without any issue.  They were done in about an hour.  I HIGHLY recommend this company!  Good customer service is VERY hard to find these days.  Well Powell's has it!</p>"

"I work abroad and my wife and kids were at home when suddenly the water stopped working. We didn’t know what to do or who to call. My wife tried talking to electricians and plumbers but none of them could fix it and said it was a well pump issue and they couldn’t help. We are new home owners and not familiar with these things so my family went without water for almost 2 weeks until... I randomly Googled “well pump companies” and saw that “Tri County Pumps” had amazing reviews so I called them. They were the kindest and most understanding company I’ve ever worked with. They got there exactly when needed and fix everything and had qualified electricians and plumbers onsite while fixing our pump and did everything step by step with us so we could understand. Their entire staff from owners to admin to on-the-job workers were beyond amazing to work with and they made it so easy. Even from 1,000’s of miles away. I wish I could give them more stars. God bless you all!!"

"I'd been having issues with my well water cutting off for a few seconds and then back on again, it started about 2 years ago and had gotten a little worse over time. At first I thought it was the pressure switch so I replaced that myself last year but it didn't help. The pressure tank had been installed in 2004 so I finally decided to call a plumber to come out and give me an estimate for a new one. Mr. Cantrell showed up for the both the estimate and the subsequent replacement of the tank when he promised and the service was excellent. Its been a few days and I have fantastic water pressure again and it hasn't cut off at all!"

"<p>Another provider wanted to talk me into replacing pressure tank, pump the whole works.  Estimated cost $5,000.00.   H&H Well Drilling LLC came in.  The tank needed to be pressured up.  </p> <p><br /></p> <p>I would complain about the other company, a plumbing company, but I'm told that Angie's list removes history of complaint from records if company makes good.  So a company might have a history of complaints but you  won't find it out here. SO that's why Angie's list ain't gong to be renewed.</p> <br />"

"Day one went fantastic.  Butch and Brad arrived on time and went straight to work doing all of the jack hammering and other prep work for the installers.  They were both very proactive in identifying potential issues with things they weren't even working on as well as keeping us posted throughout the day with what they were doing and what we should expect.  They were great. <br /> Day two was ok.  Had a new Crew with Corey as the lead and he did a decent job of answering my questions.  The crew was removing all of the concrete and installing the drains and sump pump, so it was a fairly labor filled day.  <br /> Day three was the exact opposite of what we experienced on day one.  Corey was the lead again and it was clear that the new crew that day wanted to go home.  They were very rushed and a lot of sloppy work was done.  There was no walk through of what we should do now, how to operate the sump pump/Blue Canyon....just packed up and left.  When the Blue Canyon was installed, we were never informed that a large pipe would be sticking out of our floor, nor that it would be as loud as it is.  The attitude of the gentlemen installing it was like "oh well."  They eventually moved the pipe away from the wall, but they weren't happy about it.  Upon further inspection, there was a lot of sloppy work.  All of the finishing work was very poorly done.  ie: concrete work had divots in the floor, could see daylight around the pipes going out of the house, concrete was rough and not smooth, Blue Canyon pipe outside wasn't fastened to the house properly.  It just looked bad! After three weeks, everything was addressed and fixed.  It was just unfortunate that it was required. <br /> Overall, I think the sump pump is fine.  It's only been a few weeks since its been installed.  We are, however, very disappointed with the Blue Canyon system.  It is fairly loud and you really can't turn it off.  Plus, there is a pipe sticking out of my floor that is pretty ugly.  Had I known that was necessary, we would not have gotten it.  If their entire team could be made up of Butch, Brad, and Mike (one of the guys who came out to fix the sloppy work) this would have been a completely different experience. <br />"

"They had been out like ten days before, and the issue expanded. I paid eight hundred dollars two weeks before, did not get me anywhere with the five thousand dollar repair. Just disappointed that the inspection and work which was done within an month prior, did not capture the problem. It ended up being so expensive for that visit."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Summit-point, WV

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
