"Starla and her family members at GCO were super helpful when I was shopping for new wood floors and carpet. I ended up only buying carpet from GCO, and the price was almost half of what I was quoted for identical carpet at another local flooring place. Starla knew I was on a tight budget and found some carpet in-stock that was exactly what I was looking for. The installer, Bill, was also very good. Professional, quick, and friendly."

"Very responsive and timely. The estimator came out immediately and did a thorough job. The carpet was promised in 7 to 10 business days but came in 5. Installation was offered the next day. The installers were prompt, efficient and did an excellent job. <br />"

"This is kind of a mixed review, so hard to figure out the letter score to give them. We had Evergreen come out on 12/10/18 and clean our carpets, two sofas, lazy-boy chair, and two beds at our house. We also had them take three area rugs of different manufacturers/size to be cleaned. We had just had 6 months of renovation work and the place needed to be cleaned. The good: I cannot say enough how pleasant and professional all of their staff have been during the times I have talked with them and had them out. They were on time. The cleaning of the rugs and sofas/chair was probably the best I have ever had from any carpet cleaning company. I highly recommend that you use them to clean your carpet and sofas, I will use them again for this. The bad: do not, DO NOT, have them clean your beds or rugs. Both beds (of different ages and manufacturers) had a chemical smell left in them. The quality manager came out twice and reworked the beds, I have no fault in Evergreen’s efforts and professional attitude. But we have had the two beds in the garage for a month and a half and the odor has not gone away – so we have had to buy new beds to replace them. The three rugs were a variety of quality, age, and manufacturer, but all were returned with a heavy soap /chemical smell. Once again, the Evergreen team was very professional and picked them back up and rewashed and kept them for almost 2 weeks. Alas, they still have the odor, they are out in the garage, we are hoping that at least the best of them will eventually off-gas. So, carpet/sofas = Yes! Beds/rugs = NO!"

"Never took a break, working straight through until the job was done.  Carpets look great and will be dry in about 6-8 hours.  Though there is a newer dry method out there that is more expensive, I prefer the standard long hose method - call me nostalgic. <br>They were, quick, efficient and motivated to do the job right and they did! <br>Thank you Real Deal for hiring only the best. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"There was a slow leak coming from a cracked pipe under one of the upstairs bathroom. It damaged the ceiling in my kitchen/family room.I consulted 2 different plumbers who both told me I would need a general contractor to take care of the problem. Enter Alberto and crew from A and J Quality Home Service. They made the repairs to the plumbing and re dry walled the hole in the ceiling. They were VERY professional and very skilled craftsmen. Roberto ,who did the plumbing repair, clearly explained what he did and was fastidious in his work. I am pleased with the results and will use their services in the future."

"I had been trying to get a company to install my floors for about 4 months. One company added extra cost for glue after I already had the quote in. Another company never made it out, and several quoted me huge money to do the job. I already had the materials, so several companies including Home Depot would not do the job without me buying the materials from them. I finally just filled out a request that went to a central system and was sent out to local businesses. With in a half hour I was called by the provider and had an estimate appointment scheduled. <br /> <br /> I liked the owner right away and he seemed to really know his business. The install quote came via e-mail and was just under my lowest quote, this time it included everything from floor leveler and glue.  <br /> <br /> The owner's sons came to do the work and all the men who were helping them were very polite, and friendly. They installed my 3,150 sq feet of flooring in 7 days. That included all the leveling. They worked on the fourth of July to stay on schedule. I can't even express how grateful I was to have them done so fast, because I had a house full of furniture to move in on a deadline. <br /> <br /> Since I'm installing my own base boards, the floor was left uncovered at all the wall edges. All of the lines were so clean and straight around the walls, and door jams. Every day I looked at the progress, I was just more and more excited because of how beautiful they were looking. I can't imagine a better job being done on the floors. I am so happy with the work and will recommend LS carpet and flooring every time. If I don't install my tile flooring, I will certainly have them do it."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sparks, NV

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
