"My townhouse is over 25 years old and still had the original builder roof. I started thinking about replacing it since a few of my neighbors had their roofs replaced mainly due to a recent storm that blew shingles off their homes. They started scraping the old shingles off just as soon as they arrived at my job site. After all the old worn out shingles were off the roof, the fun began. It was amazing to me to watch a crew member swiftly carry each package of shingles up a very tall ladder to the roof. By the time all the packages were on top of the roof, the barrier shield was laid out. Then each single shingle was laid down and nailed. After all shingles were in place, the crew cleaned up the debris in my yard and in my neighbors’ yards. My new roof looks amazing! Michael contacted me on the day of the install to check on the progress. All went well! I now have a very beautiful roof that I don't have to worry about replacing for at least 25 years. "We received a drive-by visit in early September from Presidential Exteriors canvassing the neighborhood and while we knew we were living on borrowed time, with our roof last replaced before 1991, we don't do business with companies we don't know and trust. In this case I said no thank you, and the canvasser made a last comment that struck a chord, to look them up online. After checking their references, even though a fairly new company, they had very positive feedback in Angie's List. I then called and made an appointment and my wife and I were impressed with the salesperson, Ben (we've never had someone climb around the unfinished attic in completing their assessment) for his knowledge, genuineness, detail, and approach, and we signed a contract to renovate our roofing with architectural tiles and to install wider gutters (all in preparation for global warming). Over two days, the crew of two performed an amazing job at removing multiple layers of very old shingles (resulting in less full shingles being removed, and mostly partially torn pieces) and the care and cleanup left the full area around the house and bushes almost clean. Understandably, with any re-roofing I cannot imagine you wouldn't have some small amount of cleanup and a few full handfuls of nails and staples over the following months. In our case, in the subsequent week we have found over 60 nails so far using our own magnetic broom (purchased at Home Depot). The third day found the crew finishing the roofing and the other contractors arriving to remove and install the new gutters. So far, the new roof and rain gutters look great and we're cautiously awaiting the approaching storm season."

Unlike several other contractors that provided me estimates, John Krause construction did not inflate their prices to take advantage of the market conditions. I feel like I was charged a fair and reasonable price for the work performed, using upgraded architectural shingles instead of 3-ply and also installing water/ice shield and drip edge as per latest building codes. Some of the other contractors wanted to just go over the old shingles rather than R&R and charge me just as much!"
