I am not getting a new water heater because this one does produce hot water. It still putt-putts.  It still takes way too long to get hot.  I told the kid that was here I am sorry he wasted his time.  I have had gas water heaters most of my life and the last 21 years in this house.  Two years with this water heater--and I am still NOT happy.  I cannot run a shower, washer and dishwasher with this one--I could my old one.  Both are 40 gal water heaters.  A tub has to be 1/4 full before hot water gets to my bathroom.  So, in the end, I will still need to replace this water heater 2 years in and have added expense on top of the $1500 plus this one cost me.  He told me if anything else goes wrong to call--I gently replied "Thanks, but no, I am done.  I will replace this one and go on about my day.  I have no problem letting people know I am not happy.  I know how gas water heaters work and this is not it.""
