"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

I’ve spent over 15 years doing hands-on work in home services, mixing classic handyman skills with strong IT and home technology experience. I handle residential repairs, installations, and troubleshooting, along with computer setup, home networking, Wi-Fi optimization, TV mounting, AV systems, and smart-home devices. I’ve owned and operated multiple businesses, so clear communication, reliability, and clean work are just how I operate.\n\nI’m based in Central Massachusetts and work throughout Worcester County, Middlesex County, MetroWest, and nearby areas. If you’re not sure whether I travel to your town, just ask.\n\nMy goal is simple: show up on time, do the job right, explain what I’m doing, and leave your home better than I found it. I don’t upsell work you don’t need, and I don’t cut corners. If you’re looking for someone dependable who can handle both hands-on work and tech without bouncing you between contractors, I’m happy to help.

"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "Overall, we were very happy working with United and love the look of our new bathrooms and closet! The initial quote was very fair and similar to other estimates we received. We appreciated the fixed pricing for the project which encompassed many of the unexpected surprises/delays that inevitably come up when doing renovations in an old building. United even went above and beyond and repaired small things in other parts of the condo that weren't part of the initial contract. All of the workers were respectful, efficient and cleaned up after themselves each day. The carpenter hired by United was fantastic and took extra care to ask our preferences and confirm the design at several points before build/installation. The closets look amazing. For the most part, the craftsmanship for the project was beautiful. At the end of the project there were a few places (molding/paint/grout work) where the finishes needed some touching up and Giovani was incredibly responsive to our requests and fixed them right away. Jackie was a great contact throughout the project, always helped to address each of our questions and concerns and was a great liaison help communicate with Giovani, Alessandro and all of the subcontractors. Overall the project took about 12 weeks, longer than initially quoted but about what we were expecting. The only part of the project we weren't happy with was the company United contracted with to install the glass shower doors for the bathrooms. While the end product looks great, we encountered many issues along the way, including cracking of our glass tile during installation (twice) and incorrectly measuring the glass for the door in the other bathroom. United was great about repairing all the damage, but it added significant delays to the project. All in all, we really love the look of our remodel and would definitely hire United again for future projects."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Sutton, MA

You should hire an experienced plumber for major repairs like persistent leaks, electrical faults, or complete unit replacements, as these issues require expert diagnostics and installation. For minor problems like clogs or small jams, a certified and insured handyperson can often handle the repair safely. Hiring a professional ensures the repair is done correctly, maintaining your appliance's performance and helping prevent future issues.

A garbage disposal lasts between eight and 15 years when properly maintained. Factors like frequency of use, regular cleaning, and following manufacturer guidelines can influence its lifespan. Higher-end models with stainless steel components typically last longer than budget units with galvanized components. Routine maintenance helps prevent early failures and keeps your disposal running smoothly. Avoiding problematic materials like fibrous vegetables, coffee grounds, and grease can significantly extend your disposal's operational life and efficiency.

Your garbage disposal may clog when food particles, especially fibrous or starchy materials, build up around the grinding components and block the normal flow. Dense foods like potato peels, rice, or pasta can cause blockages, especially if not flushed through with enough cold water. Regular cleaning and proper use can help prevent clogs and keep your disposal running smoothly.

Garbage disposals impact the environment by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and by using electricity when operating. By grinding up organic waste, they decrease the volume of waste that would otherwise produce methane emissions in landfills. While they consume some energy, using efficient models and following recommended practices can manage this usage. With responsible use, garbage disposals can be an eco-friendly option.
