"Scott and his crew did a great job on our laminate flooring installation! They were on time and got the job done quickly. This was a challenging job because the floor was very uneven and Scott took the time to get everything right and leveled before installing the new flooring. Definitely recommend and would use again!"

"This was for new construction. Don at Carpet City was pleasant to work with. Pricing for vinyl plank was fair. Installation price was higher than other places we received quote from. Installers were punctual. Finished the job in two days."

"The pre-installation was smooth and everything was explained well. The installers were on time, diligently worked until job was completed, and cleaned up afterwards. I am a very satisfied customer. This was the third time I had done business with Quality and I will call on them again if I have a flooring need."

"My neighbor hired Steve to do a small carpet installation job. I asked her to see if Steve would stop by afterward and take care of our very small repair job. He agreed. We did not know what time he would arrive until about an hour before. He was VERY professional, knew exactly how to do the job and had all the necessary tools. And is a very pleasant fellow. And the repair is completely invisible. We would definitely hire him again for carpet installation or repair. <br />"

"As always, my rugs were smiling after their dry bath. Love this technique. Joe usually cleans and uses a special cleaning technique to clean my rugs. The runners are usually taken to our garage, laid out, cleaned and then placed in the house to dry in about an hour to the touch. Our larger rug is cleaned in place (Joe and assistant moves our dining table ) and again in about an hour it is dry (damp to the touch, not wet). We have used Dry Master for a few years now and are very happy with the results. Him coming to the house is a real bonus for us. Also, Joe and his assistant are prompt and will call when they are delayed (not often) for some reason or other. Nice."

"Excellent in all elements price, quality, installation, professionalism all of it was topnotch. The job was well done. They were punctual. They did it within the time frame of less than a day. The price is excellent. They communicated enough. A lot of it is done in advance by a person who comes out and measures and does most of the talking. The fellow who came was Mexican and didn't speak fabulous English but he was enough to do the job and he had already been briefed. Everything is done by laser and all that. Most of the cutting is done at the factory and then then they come here and just do the finish cutting. They contract with a company that does the installation."

"Mr. Rodriguez promptly came over and then emailed me an estimate that night. We agreed on a date approximately three weeks in the future at my request. Mr. Rodriguez and his men were friendly, professional and very hardworking. They completely sanded the floors into bare wood, stained them and applied three coats of polyurethane. The entire process took about a week. Their price was very competitive and the quality of their work was excellent. I will definitely hire them again if we decide to add additional wood flooring in our house."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Asheville, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
