"The repair person used a dropcloth to catch the fine-powder soot that was accumulating inside the stove as the result of a poor air/gas mixture. After a few days, the soot began to build up inside the stove windows once again. I called the company and was advised to make a minor adjustment to the gas feed to prevent poor combustion. (Apparently, the repair person hadn't been exacting when he made the same adjustment. That's okay by me. It takes time to get it right.) I made the suggested adjustment at the time, and haven't had a soot buildup since. <br />"

"Dennis was nice to work with. He was professional, and did a great job explaining everything. I've had other roofs repaired and replaced, but repairing a tile roof was a first. When I called around for bids, there were not a lot of roofing contractors who would repair tile. The kind of tile used on the house is discontinued. To repair the roof, I had to wait for replacement tiles to be available from the tear off of another tile roof that was being replaced. Dennis explained that the chimney flashing needed repaired, AND the moss buildup in the roof valley was directing water right to the chimney. He explained his approach to scheduling roofs and repairs to me (first in, first out). A few of the other reviewers have grumbled about this, but I found it to be reasonable. I had no problems. The roof is repaired, clean, and looks a lot nicer. The price was fair. I'd hire him again."

"They created a rendering and it looked good. Because, of the bay window in the dining room, it might be difficult to install a skylight there. They need to come again and take another look/closer look into the attic to see if one could be installed between the stresses. I might possibly request a skylight in the hallway, because it is dark also."

Since then, I have hired them to clean some roofs, another time to remove a chimney that was no longer needed (replacing the area with roofing), and still another time to re-flash a chimney where leaking had occurred. I would rate their work "A" for all jobs. Fidel Quintana is meticulous about his work and uses only high quality materials. He is especially knowledgeable about installing chimney flashing. "Brett came out and inspected the roof and told me exactly what was going on (only condensation) and said I only needed some venting and even told me we could even tackle it ourselves but I asked for a bid to install it. The other bid I got from a contractor said I need a whole new roof . He was very detailed in his explanation and told me my roof would last many more years. Honesty is something homeowners do not always get with contractors so I value his honesty. I know that we will look to them in the future if we are in need of roofing."
