I was called by Kresta Wallace of Harry Wallace Construction of Albany, OR on Monday. I explained the situation. Her response was that they could do it that week. She handled the situation superbly. Two days later on Wednesday, I had a picture of the completed project. Great job. It wasn't just a mailbox. It was the timing, my not being there, and the urgent need all when they are very busy. She understood, took the task, and got it done. Very much appreciated. This company does excellent work and certainly is committed to doing the best job in a timely manner. "The existing front porch and deck on the place we bought had rotted in places and was not safe to walk on without being very careful. We had had considerable difficulty finding a contractor to take on the job but finally found Derril who was very helpful in explaining things like the different materials we could choose for the repair or rebuild. He did the drawings, got the permits, and worked the job into his schedule. The result was excellent, although it did turn out that the entire structure needed to be replaced since some of the supports were also failing. The new porch/deck is very sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. He showed up when he said he would with his crew and they got the job done in just a few days. There was one missed appointment after the deck was completed when we asked him to come back to check on something, but otherwise we were pleased with the experience and would recommend Backyard Construction. <br />"

"They are a privately own lumberyard. They have personally gone to bat for us with Trecks (a company we had a negative experience with) and stood behind what they sold. They are a small company with a high integrity of work. They have great quality of wood and products. We've been satisfied with everything we've bought from them. For example, we had an unexpected snow storm and I called them to find a snow shovel and they were kind enough to let me pay over the phone and hold it until I got there to pick it up."

"The first thing I appreciated about Alan was his concern about covering my floors so as not to get paint on them. He took no shortcuts in taping and papering the room and even removed the closet shelf so as not to get paint on it. He requires more excellence of himself than most customers would require of him. He did an excellent job of patching nail holes and wall blemishes prior to painting. Everything was returned to its place when he was done and except for a beautifully painted, blemish-free bedroom, you'd never know he had been there."
