This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. "Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time.  The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time.  However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain.  He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house.  Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks.  Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it.  The finished product was professionally done.  Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied.  Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.

"The work was completed as promised, but there are minor problems with both the walkway and steps. The curve of the walkway has places where the wooden concrete forms didn't match up, leaving ~1 inch corners sticking out instead of a smooth curve. The concrete front step doesn't completely fill the space against the house (a couple of gaps remain) so I worry that water could get in and eventually damage the step. Otherwise, the walkway looks good."

"Project took a little longer than expected with making the forms for the cement, as the man doing the work didn't understand exactly how Mark Pawling wanted it done. Mark was at a different job site and not available. However, once Mark was here things went much better. Overall he and his crew did an excellent job, and made sure we were happy with the job. The job started on Monday and was completed to our complete satisfaction the following week on Tuesday. I felt Mark really listened to us and did the work the way we wanted it done."
