"Cathy at Flooring Express has been amazing! She has helped us with carpet for our 3 bedrooms. The installers were in time and did an amazing job. We had purchased carpet from there for our living room and hallway previously. We had another contractor install it... It was a nightmare. We decided to have flooring express install our 3 bedrooms, and the difference is night and day!"

"It went really well. They responded to our initial contact promptly and set a date for an estimate. Again it was provided promptly.  We had the recommendation from Angie's List, and we when we found out who the provider was, we already knew him, so, we did not get another estimate. It seemed like a lot of money, but we did not have reason to believe we'd get it cheaper elsewhere and we had confidence in the provider.  It was done sooner than the date we thought and looked great. <br /> Clean-up was obviously really good since we couldn't tell there was any mess.  I still see the places where the tack strip from the carpet was, but our guests over the weekend never commented, so maybe it's because I knew they were there. <br /> Dan gave good instructions and suggestions on how to care for the hardwood.  The smell of the stain and polyurethane stayed for several days, so anyone wanting this service should plan for that as I don't expect it can be helped. Overall, we are very happy. <br />"

"Great from start to finish! The quality of the carpet is amazing, and Jason helped us choose the best color for our home. The installation went off without a hitch and the final product looks great. We are very pleased with the carpet and with our experience with Vision Floors. We plan to utilize their services again in the future. <br />"

"I live in an older home built around 1910. There were a total of 6 doorways (3 doorways and 3 entryways leading into a walk thru closet, bathroom, basement, kitchen, bedroom, and outside doorway. ) I was going to attempt this myself. Whew, what a relief it is knowing I didn't  !   This being an older home, under sawing the door jams was tough. (They don't build them like this anymore) . <br /> I called Adam and he arrived the very next day and emailed an estimate by that same evening. He arrived at  my house on the day and time we had setup, and completed the job within 2 weeks. Adam is a true professional  ! He is thorough and precise with his work.  He has excellent communication skills. He gives the customer options, and is willing to explain to you what he is doing. Adam is very detailed, and takes pride in his work. What a difference it makes having the floor I have now, compared to the old nasty carpet I had for years. If I need any flooring installed in the future, I will call Adam Harrison. Highly Recommended !! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"Very happy with salesperson (Gabe) and the options were explained well. Very competitive pricing on carpets. Measurement and Installation was terrible. The person who came to measure my house (Steve) did a terrible job, he did not even care to measure 2nd bedroom and just assumed length to be same. Installer had to call their office and put additional seams. I had a hard date to get my project done and could not wait and had to get installation done with seams. He stretched the carpet more than desired. Carpetland did not even call to apologize or accept the mistake. I now have space between tile and carpet and need to get these guys back to re-stretch."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Templeton, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
