"OK.. this was my first experience using Provident Electric and I now know why they have been voted Frederick's Best ( Frederick Magazine ). I had contact with them before, once when the owner Larry came out and gave me a great estimate on a generator which I am buying as soon as possible, and the other when I had an electrical problem that magically cleared up when his techs entered the house. ( I"m not saying that Provident has supernatural abilities but ......) This fix I needed was two of my lines from the breaker box were showing open grounds and Provident sent out two technicians, Joel and Nick. They worked together really well and I was impressed with their attention to the details and even more importantly how they were insistent on letting me know the why and how they were fixing it. Once they got the problem fixed, they discovered an another electrical issue dealing with a rodent chewing into my line and fixed it. Bonus: It was about half the price I expected too and I have used a lot of electricians in my time as a landlord. "The job went very well. They power washed the house on Tuesday, arriving at 7:15 AM. The next day, the crew was here by 7 AM. There were at least 5 people working at all times. The carpenter was great. Hopefully the bees won't return. The job was completed by 3 PM or so. Cleanup was great. I really like the screen door, as I had trusted them to just buy one and install it. The house looks refreshed and I really like the lighter colors.The crew was great, nice people, worked hard, enjoyed their work.

The price was very competitive. I would like to  use local people and it is hard to find them on Angie's List in southern Maryland. I did take estimates from one other company listed on Angie's, located here in Waldorf, and then a third company from another review site. Those two estimates were $3400 and $3990. Neither included the screen door and only one included the power washing.

So, a great price for the great work done. But, you do have to keep in communication with Anthony. He reads the emails, but doesn't always respond or remember the content. We had discussed, in person, PVC near the front entry, but it never went any farther than that, although I asked about it in emails too. I mentioned several times that I wanted them to purchase the screen door, but the crew knew nothing about it. Anthony called me, said it was his fault, and, I swear, in 20 minutes, one of the crew was back with the door. So, he follows through and aims to please. He is a little pre-occupied; I think he is a very busy guy directing several jobs."
