"I recently completed a six-month project with NRG Remodeling, and I couldn't be more impressed! The renovation of my 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, and kitchen went smoothly from start to finish. The communication was top-notch, and the team worked quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining very fair pricing. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the entire experience was stress-free—much smoother than I anticipated. It's rare to find such a professional and personable team, and I’m already planning my next project with them. I would absolutely recommend them for any home renovation and will definitely turn to them for future work!"

"The pro was extremely nice and helpful! He suggested things and opinions that I had not even considered! They showed up every day on time and left my house just way they found it clean! The painting and remodeling of my interior of my house still has the neighbors clamoring for another visit! I’m very grateful and happy and pleased with the work and the manner in which they operated in "

"Jordan, the manager was awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable of his product and was able to come and measure the house the very next day. The plan was for the installation to take five days. The installers for the tile were prompt and efficient. The install only took three days. The carpet installation only took six hours. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. They may be a bit pricy, but you definitely are paying for what you get: excellent service, diligent workers, and efficient installation."

"The Peraltas Remodeling & Services constructed a beautiful 8-ft fence for my property; replaced attic stairs; repaired sagging sheetrock; taped and floated a section of ceiling; textured and painted the ceiling. They did an amazing job. Prices were competitive. They were careful with my belongings, moving furniture and draping from ceiling to floor to prevent debris and paint from damaging anything and they vacuumed when finished. They arrived early in the morning to work and put full, productive days. The workers were polite and professional and I felt comfortable when home alone with them. The Peraltas Remodeling & Services will begin a sunroom project for me in a couple weeks and I have referred two others to them."

"I had used this company in the past and know I decided to call them again for some remodeling work. I did some interior renovation and restoration (plastering, drywall, hardwood floors, bathroom and kitchen remodeling). It all looks nice and perfect now. They also gave me a good discount on the price in comparison to the other contractors. <br /> <br /> Thank you."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Texas City, TX

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
