"Fantastic! 21 windows were replaced in 2 days with minimal disruptions inside the house. Sky light and ceiling repairs were completed in less than 3 days. I would highly recommend Crone Construction."

"<p>I telephoned and left a message for Michael Wayt on 9/16/14, and he called back immediately. I explained that I wanted to consult with him in person about planting several trees and shrubs in my yard. He said he would call back the next day to schedule an appointment, which he did. He arrived on 9/19, on time, for the consultation. He was knowledgeable, professional, and personable, and, from my perspective, our meeting was a success. He provided lots of helpful suggestions. He said he would draw up a plan and estimate for me in about a week. (There was no urgency about getting the plantings done; I was shooting for sometime in November.) </p> <p>Michael's initial proposal arrived via email on 9/30, and over the next few weeks he and I exchanged questions, answers, and ideas via email and telephone about what specific shrubs and trees we should plant. Eventually, I sent him my final list, including a couple of landscaping tasks, and he sent me a quote of $1,775. </p> <p>My list: Extend by 3 feet an existing low, brick border; provide and lay 6 stepping stones; transplant 5 existing shrubs; dig up and discard 2 existing shrubs; provide and plant 6 new shrubs; provide and plant 1 small crape myrtle; and provide and plant 3 trees. </p> <p>Michael and two assistants arrived at 8:15 on 11/4 and completed all the work by 12:30. One additional thing they did was to take the sod that they had removed to dig holes for the new plantings and plant it in areas that needed an infusion of healthy grass. All the planting, transplanting, and landscaping was done carefully and attractively, and the crew then watered all the plantings. Thankfully, they did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards. </p> <p>Michael was a real pleasure to work with throughout the process. Not only was he professional, knowledgeable, and personable, he exhibited a good sense of humor. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again for future plantings and landscaping. My only suggestion to Michael would be to answer all emails. A few times, I had to follow up my email with a phone call because he hadn't answered the email.</p> <p>The final cost was a little lower than the quote because I (rather than Michael) purchased 4 of the shrubs at a local nursery, and Michael provided some mulch and transplanted the sod (see above), neither of which had been included in the quote.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"Very impressed! They tore down our above ground pool, leveled the area with dirt (we asked them not to replace with sod because we're putting down a patio), and hauled away all the old equipment and debris from the pool. Jeff Walters was very helpful in our original conversation about the project. Explained options and gave several quotes depending on what work we thought we'd maybe do. They made it out to do the job a week from the first call and they worked so quickly! I believe the job only took them about 5 hours. We had the deck taken down before this part of the process by a friend, so that helped on the time it took. Arrived a little earlier than promised but that was a plus in my opinion. They cleaned up after themselves and were thorough. Very satisfied and happy to have half of our lot back to being useable space! Thanks Jeff and crew!"

"!This company did a wonderful job of repairing an old shower. The pan was leaking and wood underneath was rotted. The walls were cultured marble and they were able to save them by cutting up from the base and replacing the floor and several inches up the wall with tile. The job was done within a few days of the initial contact , the workers cleaned up their work space, and the finished result looks great! I am going to use this company again on another bathroom renovation. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Tipton, TN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
