"The installers showed up on time and were up on the roof working on removing the old antenna. Prepping the area for the new antenna installation. The job was completed, with clean up and repacking their tools in their work truck, in about 2 0 hours. We have better reception and more channels available. Would recommend them for anyone needing to replace an antenna."

"It went remarkably well ! Patrick, the owner, got back to me almost immediately after I requested an an estimate for repairing a 30-year-old chimney-mounted antenna, through "Angi". Patrick was helpful as we reviewed the project over the phone, and he was even able to quote me a price for the job (which sounded quite reasonable). Even more remarkable, and maybe not always the case, he was able to schedule the service for the following day! Edward, the service technician, arrived at my home within the two-hour window as scheduled and did a beautiful job installing a new antenna (the existing 30-year-old antenna having reached the end of its functional life, and the new one costing less than Best Buy's top-end antennas). He also installed the co-ax cable, connecting the antenna to my family room, so discreetly down the side of the chimney and the side of the house that it is virtually invisible. Edward also described a few options for some of the work, as well as some information which would increase my enjoyment of the new antenna. The old antenna provided me with about 20 channels, but not ABC or WHYY. The new antenna now receives about 75 channels, including those two especially desirable channels. Without reservation, I highly recommend VIP Telecommunications as a skilled and reasonably priced company to do business with! Bill E., Chester Springs, PA"

"Vinny and his crew were on time, professional and mannerable! As brutally cold as it was that day, they performed an excellent job installing wires and cameras on the outside. We would definitely hire Vinny and his crew for future services. Highly recommended."

"I recently purchased a ranch fixer-upper which was built in 1970 and was wired mostly with aluminum branch circuits.  There was a very short period of time this during the late 60s and early 70s that aluminum wiring was sometimes used in homes but was quickly abandoned due to an increased risk of fire.  It is a serious issue and fortunately our building inspector caught it and we were able to negotiate some money off the price which we hoped would help cover some of the cost of repair.  There is a code-approved "fix" called a Copalum pig-tail but this is really more of a temporary fix and not really a permanent solution as far as we were concerned.
I called Omar based on his excellent reviews here and he came out for a free consultation to discuss a strategy to determine the best way to deal with it.  Since we are renovating the bathroom and kitchen anyway, we knew we were going to at least re-wire those areas with copper while the walls were opened up but we weren't really sure what we would do with the other spaces.
Omar came up with a great plan to pull up new copper circuits from the basement to the attic that he would use to rewire the kitchen and bathroom and he would also pull up enough extra circuits so he (or someone else) could eventually rewire the remainder of the upstairs and we would have all the circuits needed in junction boxes in the attic so there would not be a need to reopen the walls to get wires from the panel (in the basement) up to the attic. He also went ahead and gave me a price to rewire everything all at once if I wanted but as I asked, he came up with a great phased approach that would have allowed me to do it over time if needed.  I went ahead and decided to do it all as the incremental cost was not that much more.
His team showed up two days later for 4+ long days of work and they were able to completely rewire the bathroom and the rest of the house with new copper circuits. The guys were courteous, professional and very pleasant to be around as my father and I were doing some other work on the house that the same time.  They were able to fish the new lines down into the walls to completely rewire all the switches, outlets, lights, etc. WITHOUT having to open up walls and cut any additional holes other than the main one used to run the circuits up into the attic.  I trusted them enough to provide access to the house during times when nobody else could be there.  Since they had to remove all the outlets and switches anyway, they offered to install new regular switches and outlets at no extra costs or offered to install the fancy Leviton Decora switches and outlets if I provided them - which I did.  Since there are probably at least 50-60 switches and outlets, that alone would have been a pretty big job so I appreciate that foresight which gave me the opportunity to upgrade all of that for no additional labor cost.
At completion, they also recommend a drywall guy to help patch what few access holes they needed to create who gave me a fair price andalso fixed some other pre-existing drywall holes, cracks, etc. while he was there without even being ask or requesting additional money.
I have more electrical work to do to the house and a few other outbuildings and will definitely used Ohms Electrical in the future.

"We needed a total roof replacement.  Had several estimates, but after meeting with Alan we decided to use Majestic.   The workmen showed up on time and worked nonstop.  They cleaned up everything when they were done and now we have a beautiful new roof. We intend to use them again for our new windows and siding.  Would definitely recommend them to anyone."

"I am an IT Technician & Manager with 15+ years of experience. Because of this, I contemplated installing my HDTV Outdoor Roof Antenna myself. However, during my planning I soon realized that I was not equipped to tackle this task and I certainly was not able to get up & onto my 30 ft high roof. So I decided to hire a professional in this field of work. I submitted my request on HomeAdvisor.com after 10:00 pm on May 17, 2015 and Mr Paul Lynch contacted me the next morning (May 18, 2015) before 8:00 am. We discussed in detail the nature of the project and finally the cost. His cost for the project was extremely competitive and it was the lowest in comparison to the quotes I received from three other companies. On the day of the installation, he arrived on time and promptly began the installation after we discussed & examined everything that needed to be done. The nature of my installation was very complex and challenging, but he was able to get the project completed. His work is extremely neat and professional. One of the things which stood out was... at the side of my home there was a "spaghetti patch of wiring", left over from old DishNetwork, DirectTV, FiOS and Optimum Cable services. Previous technicians would simply "work around" or "add to" this patch of wiring. Mr Paul Lynch "made things right" by removing any old unused wires and kept all of the relevant wires, which he neatly laid out and secured with commercial strength zip ties. He also corrected a problem with the "coaxial wire ground" and reinstalled it properly... all of this at no extra cost. Now I am enjoying FREE OVER THE AIR BROADCASTING (20 HD channels & 35 SD channels), because of my professionally installed HDTV Roof Antenna. I would highly recommend the service of Mr Paul Lynch to any of my family and friends. If you were to hire him, you too would be extremely pleased as I was and still am."

FAQs for antenna installation and replacement projects in Toms River, NJ

Mounting your TV antenna on the roof or in the attic at the highest possible point provides the best reception. Ensure a clear, unobstructed view toward the broadcast towers. The best view is free from trees, buildings, or walls that could interfere with the signal and potentially damage the antenna.

Your TV antenna should be mounted as high as possible with a clear, unobstructed view toward the broadcast signal source. Elevating the antenna improves the chance of receiving clearer and uninterrupted reception. Obstacles like trees, buildings, and hills can interfere with the signal, so avoid mounting it on the ground or below the roofline. Installing it on the roof or in the attic ensures a direct line to the transmission towers, enhancing both signal strength and picture quality.

To strengthen your antenna signal, start by ensuring your antenna is in an optimal location with a clear view toward the broadcast towers. If you're still experiencing weak signals, consider adding an amplifier for an additional $50 to $200.

Check for nearby obstructions or metallic objects that might interfere with reception, such as appliances or metal fences, and keep the antenna at least 6 feet away from them. Additionally, ensure your coaxial cable isn't excessively long, which can reduce signal strength.

Even though a few rare cases are exceptions to the rule, grounding won't improve your TV antenna reception. Like other issues, it's best to speak with a TV antenna specialist to learn which options will deliver the strongest reception. While grounding may not work, your pro will offer other ideas to improve reception.

An outdoor HDTV antenna costs $20 to over $200, with some units running upward of $500. Indoor units run as little as $20 but with poorer quality reception. Like most things, you get what you pay for. However, you may not need a top-of-the-line antenna. Discuss your needs with a local TV antenna installer.

A TV antenna won't always provide perfect reception due to factors like your distance from broadcasting towers, nearby obstructions, and weather conditions. To minimize issues, research your area's signal strength and choose the right type of antenna for your location. Tools like the DTV maps from the Federal Communications Commission can help you check local digital TV channel reception. Selecting an appropriate antenna and proper positioning and installation will improve your chances of receiving consistently clear signals.
