"First, Keith has a good deal of experience in the Home Inspection area. His certification number with ASHI is rather low, in the mid-triple digit area (in comparison, new certificates are numbering into the 3,000 range). He also has a side business of minor home repairs (which he emphatically says he cannot and will not do any work for you due to conflict of interest/ethics concerns), so this gives him some current perspectives on what he's looking at and for. <br /> He got there early and started right in. At various times, he explained several aspects of the home, both good and some concerns including one marginal code issue (turned out VA wouldn't release the appraisal until that issue was fixed). His inspection included a thermal imaging look at some of the known and suspected problem areas. This imaging pointed out a water leak issue from the roof that wasn't very noticeable visually.
