"Subcontractors were mostly good, but management of them was lacking. I had to personally supervise them because the on site contractor rarely stayed very long. Told the trim finish crew to leave because they did not know how to install crown molding. Got another crew that knew what they were doing. They never asked for periodic payments during the job (as is typical); presented one huge bill at the end. Holland homes builds nice homes, but I would not recommend them for small jobs like mine because you do not get the best crews and you have to wait for them to fit you into their schedule."

"Ordered and paid for custom awning that was to take 5 weeks. Its now been 16 weeks and still waiting. Owner is at best noncommunicable and at worst, rude. I'm now wondering if this is a scam and not a real business."

"In summary, hiring Tom was a terrible decision. We hired him to inspect a home before we purchased it. Everything seemed to go well and minor things were found that the current homeowners fixed. Very shortly after moving into the house I found several soft spots in the floor. I called Tom and he assured me that there was nothing wrong and blamed it on it being a “floating floor” and the way it expands and contracts with the weather. I thought nothing else of it, trusting him since he is a professional. Months later (we’ve been in the house about 10 months at this point) I was 3 months pregnant and my husband and I decided to put carpet in the future nursery. We called a contractor to look at the soft spots. Turns out, our sub floor was rotted and molded. It was so soft, the contractor said he was surprised no one has fallen through it yet. I was so upset especially since the worst room was the nursery and it could’ve potentially gone unnoticed. We found out that there was a leak under the house that had been going on for a very long time- much longer than we have been in the house according to the contractor. I tried to call Tom and he instructed that I text him....kind of weird. I still have all the messages were he explained that he did everything he was supposed to and that if we pursue mediation that we could loose our home insurance. This scared me. We are first time home owners and didn’t know how things like this work. Tom continued to blame this on my neglect- even though I contacted him concerned about the floor several months prior. He said he recommended a structural engineer but after reading the report multiples times he only states he “may recommend a structural engineer” IF he finds structural damage. He DOES state in the report that he “did not found any structural damage”. One of Tom’s responses to My concerns was “sorry for you”. We had to take out 2 loans to fix everything wrong with the floor before our son arrived. Now that our son is born and several months old, I’m hoping to address these issues. I will never recommend Tom to anyone."
