"Overall, Dave's service was excellent. Dave was punctual, professional and provided a fair price. He was available via chat to agree on appointments and helped me with the town permit. He upgraded my kitchen lighting by adding more circuits, running two electrical lines for the cooktop, wall oven, and updated the electrical panel. He cleaned the area after work was done. "The experience was not quite what I expected. I had clearly explained the scope—replacing 10-12 standard switches with smart switches giving model number/spec—and was hoping for a lump sum proposal, but they only offered hourly rates, which is understandable. They estimated it would take about 2 hours, but the job ended up taking over 4. While they mentioned having done similar installations before, they spent quite a bit of time reviewing instructions on site, which added to the time and cost. The final bill was over $800 for a couple switches, including a service fee and $10 for wire connector? (The switches come with connector) Just a heads-up to others: be sure to ask detailed questions about hourly charges and how time will be managed, especially for smart device installations."
