"If you are looking for an expert at a reasonable price, who is professional, polite and does what he says he will do call these folks. A few years ago I had someone else supposedly fix this type of stucco and it didn't last. These folks are excellent and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again in a heart beat!"

"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

"George's painting, inc was responsive and professional from start to finish. The project entailed wallpaper removal from 2.5 bathrooms and kitchen, repainting those rooms; installing a tile backsplash and vinyl tile floor in the kitchen; replacing the kitchen countertop; repairing a cabinet; repairing drywall and painting the ceiling in the master bedroom. The owner came out to do the estimate himself. He was accommodating when I wanted to expand the scope of the initial project and came out a second time to give me an updated estimate. He was easy to reach via cell or email. The estimate was more than fair. His crew completed the job in three days. The crew was polite, professional, and did a good job cleaning up at the end of each work day. I highly recommend this company and would use them again."

"FDC Painting worked with us to ensure that they understood our needs (two in home visits to make sure they had it right). They scheduled us promptly after signing the contract. The team showed up on time and quickly worked through the project. They moved furniture and ensured the floors and furnishings were covered and well protected. Once walls were stripped and repaired, they used quality Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paints. The house was kept clean and tidy. After the job was completed the owner of FDC followed up to make sure we were happy with his work and to ensure there was nothing else required from him or his team. Results of the job were very good. We would recommend FDC and use them again."

"A water pipe broke upstairs and did considerable damage. Lemus Contracting had to take down the kitchen cabinets and rebuild the drywall ceiling and walls, then put everything back up. The drywall all had to be repainted. The same type of work was necessary in the bathroom. They were helpful in proposing solutions to various problems that arose during the reconstruction. Finally they had to dry things out to prevent mold and also replace some of the laminate flooring which had been damaged in other rooms. I found them to be conscientious and punctual in their work. I have used them for other projects since then with similar results."

"They did a great job.  They were on time.  They cleaned up after their work.  They skim coated and painted two bathrooms, put up drywall in our family room and painted it, and they also painted another bathroom.  They were very good.  I didn't have any problems with them."

"I was really pleased with this contractor. The owner, Carlos, responded quickly to my request to claim a deal he was offering for the dreaded task of removing wallpaper. We set up an appointment and he arrived at the scheduled time with his worker, Jay, who worked his tail off by himself removing that paper in a large master bedroom. Considering the condition of the wall underneath the wallpaper, I thought Jay did a tremendous job with the removal. He asked me how detailed I wanted/needed the drywall patching to be (of course more detailed equaled more time and money) and I appreciated that he asked. I'm selling the property, so I asked for a happy medium knowing that I could do small touch-ups if necessary. Jay also made sure to tell me that I should buy flat paint to minimize the imperfections and worked worked tirelessly over two days to transform the room. He cleaned up beautifully, and I'm quite happy with the outcome. I even contacted the owner after completion of this job to do additional work."

"L & T Services run by Antonio is top-notch when it comes to beautiful results, he leads a professional team and has reasonable prices. I hired him first last year to replace my carpet with vinyl plank floors and paint my entire condo, and it looks like a whole new condo with so much attention to detail, I get tons of compliments when guests come over. He answered any questions I had when I called in reference to the supplies I needed to purchase at home depot and helped me when items did not arrive on time, and he ran out to buy them himself to keep the project on time. The team came back a couple of months ago to remodel my bathroom and it looks just like the photo I had sent him. I highly recommend Antonio and his team for your next floor, painting, and bathroom remodeling."

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Triangle, VA

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
