"I found only one helpful review on Angie's List, but that was one more than anyone else had for this particular service. Previously I had asked my pest control company to get rid of the honey bees and their hive, so they sent someone several times to get up on a ladder and spray pesticide. It never made any difference, and I learned later that it's a good thing that didn't work. <br /> Brian Haley showed up on time with lots of equipment. I had spoken to him by telephone to schedule the work, and I sent him pictures by email. I questioned whether he could do the job at that height, so we had a backup plan starting from inside a second floor bedroom, which turned out fortunately not to be necessary. He told me he would use some kind of thermal detection to locate the hive precisely since it could not be seen from outside. <br /> Brian explained everything to me, and I appreciated the education. He informed me that if the pest control folks had managed to kill all the bees, the wax in the hive would have melted causing wax and honey to drip down inside the wall, causing who knows what kind of problems over time. In fact, there is a good chance the hive would have been abandoned eventually by the bees leading to the same result even if I had left it undisturbed. Obviously, Brian knew what he was doing. There is a shortage of honey bees and they perform an important function and not just honey production, pollinating stuff that needs to be pollinated (but my education goes no further as to exactly why or what). So Brian saves the bees and the hive, transplanting it to another location. <br /> Brian spent most of the time up on that ladder two stories above sloping ground, first removing a piece of the soffit, then vacuuming bees into his custom built cages and then removing the honeyed hive itself, piece by dripping piece. The hive was huge and it looked like it contained thousands of bees, maybe more than 10,000 according to Brian. I don't have the courage even to change a light bulb on a ladder not quite that high, much less work all day with heavy electrical equipment at that height. <br /> It turned out to be a painstaking, all-day job, taking much longer than Brian anticipated because of the size of the hive. <br /> Brian Haley is a real professional. It’s not often or for everyone that such a problem presents itself, but if it ever does Brian is your man. <br /> <br /> UPDATE (4/27/13): The high-quality photos Brian took for me, of the hive he removed, have made their way to an acquaintance of mine who lives in Brooklyn. They inspired him to install two hives of his own on his rooftop."

"It went very well.  They got rid of the noisy little monsters, repaired the eaves and painted everything.   They saved me a bit of money by using paint I already had.  It was supposed to be a one day job, but ran into a second day -- no problem, though.  The second day was just finishing up the painting. "

"Being new to Birmingham, I needed a pest control company and had no one in mind. I tried PCE(Pest Control Experts) based of a deal on Angie's List and the ratings. PCE called to confirm the appointment and showed up earlier than expected initially. The initial appointment was for treating a new home for insects and pest. They paid careful attention to areas of concern and thoroughly treated the entire home and landscape. The home had a few millipedes which I did not think would be a major problem. Well, I underestimated the issue. I did not know that we have three things that make our new home ideal for these little critters... lack of pest treatments, a basement and rain. After PCE came out and treated the home, we went a few days bug free, but the millipedes returned with a vengeance. There were hundreds dead around the foundation of the home, garage, and in the basement; however, they continued to enter into the basement. Well, I called the owner and he personally came out the next day and and added traps near entrances of the garage and treated things that was not typically a part of the service we signed up for. Well, I underestimated the power of the traps, because we found out that we had scorpions, lizards, etc... coming in the garage. Anyway, we are on our third treatment prior to moving into the home, and I don't feel like I am in this battle alone. The owner has consistently called to check up every few days to see what the status of the critters are. He seems as if he will do whatever it takes to get rid of the critters. Typically I would have moved on to another pest control company, but I am confident in the owner's commitment to resolving this issue. <br /> In addition to pest control, PCE also offers landscaping service that worked perfect for us especially being new to Birmingham They offer a complete landscaping service that also included weed control, edging and trimming of hedges. Being new, he also gave us recommendations for other services we need. <br /> If you are looking for individual attention and personalized service, then look to PCE, because they are a one-stop shop. I will update this should I have any issues going forward with the millipedes, but currently I am satisfied with their efforts. <br /> <br />"

"Pest Control process began in September and has been successful. Technician calls ahead for an appointment and is courteous and knowledgeable. Have not completed Termite and contract yet, but plan to do so soon."

"Squirrels set up housekeeping in our attic and were not deterred by poison bait traps. Our pest control company didn't provide this service but recommended Trutech. Their online reviews by users were better than others. I emailed them and they promptly called to set up an appointment. The serviceman arrived at the scheduled time, identified the entry sites, set up traps and returned to seal up the holes with metal plates. We had no evidence for squirrels in the attic for about 7 months but they managed to circumvent the barrier over one of the previous holes. I reported this to Trutech and the serviceman returned and sealed the hole again at no charge even though it was beyond the warranty date because he said that he had run out of the heavy duty metal plates during the original treatment. The weaker metal sheet was breached, so it was replace with heavy duty sheeting at no cost. <br />"

"Critter Control is located in Birmingham. I thought they were very knowledgeable. They were able to quickly identify that it was mice, which we thought were squirrels in our attic. They came and put in some pellets for the mice in our attic and were able to resolve the problem. The work went fine and we are happy with them. Their price was a little expensive. I would use their service in the future if needed."
