"Would had given a 5 on value for my money but the price was still higher than I expected to spend for spray foam insulation. But I got a few bids and Banker was the best."

"Estimator was courteous and professional. We asked him to itemize costs in four parts. Part 1: Hall bathroom install the vanity, sink, faucets and toilet that we had already purchased. Estimated cost $1130.07 Part 2: Hall bathroom convert bathtub to shower. Estimated cost $2,473.19 Part 3: Master bathroom install new vanity and sink to be provided by Acra. Estimated cost $2425.07 Part 4: Master bathroom convert garden tub to shower. Estimated cost $3069.34 An additional $3318.60 was added for tax, supervision, and overhead. This is the type of top level company we would hire if we had a stick-built house. This home does not warrant more than low-cost basic improvements. We really appreciated the detail of the estimate."

"Not the smoothest service. Problem with ordering toilets - a long story in itself. I had to bird-dog the process right to the end. In fact I got an upgraded toilet as a result of the order snafu but had to wait a couple days for a seat that did not come with the order. But once they were installed, I was satisfied. The installation went fine with no issues other than the missing seat. The installer was very thorough and cleaned up the job and left my bathrooms as if no one was ever there."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Did a great job. Should have removed the plywood at the ladder before putting in the insulation so that after it was done put the plywood back to reach the light."

"While buying a home in Sun City West our inspection reported that attic had blown insulation blocking all the soffit vents. East Valleys crew went to the home and spent hours checking the issue in the attic, in the August heat no less, and let us know that the inspector was mistaken and that the vents were free and clear. They even checked other houses in the vicinity to investigate further. Two other companies who refused to enter the attic ("I know what attics look like") proposed a small number of external OHagin vents instead which wouldn't have solved the issue if it existed. East Valley saved us thousands in unnecessary rework where other firms tried to take advantage. Thank you Mike and your crew!"

FAQs for batt, rolled or reflective insulation install or upgrade projects in Tucson, AZ

Batt insulation excels in vertical installations because it remains firmly in place and delivers consistent thermal performance. Blown-in insulation performs exceptionally in spaces such as attics, efficiently filling gaps in irregular areas.

Employing both insulation types according to their strengths enhances your home’s overall energy efficiency and comfort by providing a tailored solution for every space.

Start by measuring the square footage of the space, then match that area with the insulation thickness you need to hit your target R-value. Add a buffer for waste and odd-shaped spots so every cavity is covered.

Once you have a rough count, run it past a local insulation pro—their on-site advice will fine-tune the numbers and help you avoid costly miscalculations.

Old insulation that is dry, intact, and mold-free does not require removal before adding new insulation; stacking new insulation over it maintains effective thermal performance and boosts energy efficiency.

If the insulation is damp, moldy, or deteriorated, removal is necessary to eliminate health risks and ensure maximum effectiveness of the new layer. A professional insulation contractor will assess your situation and recommend the most effective solution.

Installing insulation in an average-sized home using batts or boards requires five to 12 hours. Using spray foam or blown-in insulation requires two to five hours. These timeframes are determined by the area’s size, accessibility, and whether old insulation must be removed.

Complex projects and hard-to-reach spaces demand extra time. Hiring an experienced insulation professional ensures that the installation is completed efficiently and correctly.

Insulation is measured by R-value, which defines how effectively it resists heat flow. A higher R-value provides superior thermal resistance, ensuring your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Choosing the correct R-value is essential for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort, and it directly impacts long-term utility savings. Professional guidance determines the optimal R-value for your specific climate.
