"When my 17 year old Maytag washer started making the noise of doom I chose Mark's Appliance Service based strictly on his reviews, not where he fell in the list of available service providers, and he didn't disappoint! First off, he assured me there'd be no charge for a service call if I decided to buy new rather than repair a 17 year old machine. That doesn't always happen. Mark arrived when he said he would, he listened to the noise and In less than 30 seconds told me that my washer needed a new water pump. We spent a bit of time discussing new versus repair and I was persuaded that my 17 year old Maytag was worth the investment given the junky washers that are sold nowadays. (He recommended front loading Speed Queen washers but they're way outside my budget.) Mark ordered my new water pump and within a day or so after he got it he installed and tested it. Success ... no more noise!! Total cost: $200, which seems very reasonable to me, and it includes a 1-year guarantee on parts and labor. If you're lucky enough to live in Mark's admittedly limited service area (northeast Summit County) I highly recommend Mark's Appliance Service!"

"Total Appliance Service was one of two repair shops in my area listed on the manufacturer's web site. Some of the reviews on Angie's list for TAS are dreadful. So, I called the other shop first. There was a scheduling mishap with them, and I called TAS. My clothes washer has a 5 year warranty when the industry standard is for 3 years. The first place I called was very skeptical. They eventually agreed to honor that provided I produce the warranty documentation. TAS lookup up my model online while I was on the phone and confirmed the 5-year warranty. The technician arrived within the window and had a part in hand. Based on my description he knew what was wrong. He completed the repair within a reasonable amount of time and was personable. My experience with TAS was good."
