"I had puddles of standing water under my house for a year. The plumber found no leaks and said it would evaporate in the summer. Well it didn't and I called Crawlspace Doctor of Huntsville, Alabama. Sawyer Williams was great at explaining the issue and the costs, and it was a no pressure visit. He explained to me the four causes of water in a crawlspace and suggested the best way to SOLVE the problem, not put a band aid on it. They have just finished a full encapsulation, sump pump, and dehumidifier with a digital thermostat I can monitor from in my home. The workmen came out on schedule - were friendly, responsible, and efficient. Sawyer came back to get under the house and inspect their work. I was VERY pleased with the results, and would recommend Crawlspace Doctor of Huntsville, Alabama highly."

"I had some foundation work done on my house.  The foundation problems had caused several problems with the brick veneer including cracks and uneven brickwork (a section under one window had bulged out a little).  Masonscapes was recommended by the company that did the foundation work.  Jerred came out and gave me a estimate and described how he would repair the several spots that needed it.  He finished the work on time and was very professional.  I was very pleased with his work as my brickwork looked "good as new"   It has now been 3 years and it still looks good. <br />"

"Mr. Rogers and all of his crew were very professional, prompt and hard working from beginning to end.  They went well above & beyond what was expected, working late into the night and on the weekend in order to finish the job before our scheduled move date of November 15th.  Mr. Rogers and Wade, his foreman, made sure that all work was done properly. Many of the rooms required three coats of paint.  They did a superb job of cleaning up after the job was done, including vacuuming carpets and cleaning all of the hardwood floors with Murphy's Oil Soap.  This made our move-in prep much easier than it might otherwise have been.  If you want the job done right, Brad Rogers Paint Contractors is the company to call. <br />"

"Request for estimate was granted quickly. Estimator was prompt and prices were reasonable.  The estimator looked at the closets where the bifold doors would be installed and he looked at the bifold doors which were in a different room.  I told him that some of the parts were probably missing and that some of the doors may need new hardware. <br /> A fews days later, a worker arrived to complete  3 projects. He was polite.  <br /> 1. He installed a medicine cabinet in a bathroom. Installation of main cabinet was fine.  Did not put in sliding mirror doors for medicine cabinet because he said they didn't fit and he showed me how they did not fit. After he left, I reversed the top and bottom tracks on the cabinet and the sliding doors fit fine.   <br /> 2. Attached an air duct extender to an air duct in our kitchen.  When I showed him the air duct, I mentioned that it would probably need some duct tape around the  area where the duct and extender connect.  He also cut a rectangular opening in a ceiling tile and attached a vent so that the air can flow into the kitchen.  After he left, I removed a ceiling tile and noticed that he had not put duct tape around the connection even though I had mentioned it. Since the duct and the extender are not the same size, air is also flowing into the area above the kitchen ceiling. My husband will have to install some duct tape to finish the job.  The part visible from the kitchen looks good.  <br /> 3. Installed 4 bifold closet doors that another contractor had previously removed in order to refinish our floors.  There were 2 sets of doors in 2 bedrooms. During installation, he asked me if I had the pieces for the top of the bifold doors because some of them were missing.  I told him I did not have them.  He said that House Doctors had only told him to install new hardware on the bottom part of some of the doors. When he finished installing the doors, he mentioned that 2 of the doors did not close well because the carpet had been removed  making the doors lower which made the bottom of the doors bump into the molding.  I asked if he could put something under the metal part on the floor to raise the doors.  He did this for one door but said it would not work on the other one which I accepted, but felt that he should have been able to fix it.  <br />   A few days later, I decided to call back and ask them to provide hardware for the top part of the doors since we had paid to have the doors installed properly.  Receptionist said they would send someone out. The same worker came back promptly with some new parts for the 2 doors that were missing the top pieces.  After he left, I noticed that one of the doors makes a rattling noise when closing and that the part he used does not have a  plastic piece on the top, but the part he used for the other door does have a plastic piece at the top and it works fine.  My husband will have to go out and buy new hardware for the top of the doors.  We will also have to cut out a piece of the door that does not close properly so it will fit around the molding and close all the way.   <br /> I was not happy with the quality of the work and felt that the worker did not put forth enough effort to make sure things were done correctly. I do not like having to finish projects that I paid someone to do. <br />"

"Donald Bradford Painting and Repair did an excellent job painting our side porch and shed door/columns. This is the second time we hired them to do work for us. They arrived on time, were professional and cleaned up after they were finished. We were very happy with the results and highly recommend Donald Bradford Painting."

"I received the estimate of work to be completed and provided the owner, David Naumcheff, with my budget.  From the start of the remodel to the finish, David and his crew were very courteous, professional and kept in contact with me on the progress.  He is very knowledgable in all aspects and offered advice on the remodel, including what areas to improve to increase the overall value of my home while staying within budget.  The work was completed in less time than I had expected and I am extremely pleased with the results.  There was an issue with my new french doors not closing properly due to settling of the home, however, David was prompt to send out a crew member to remedy that and I have had no problems since.  I would highly recommend Naumcheff Construction for any of your building/remodeling projects."

"I liked the work that they did. They left some hardware in that we had to replace but I think it was a little effective anyway. I thought it was a good deal. They did pretty good. They were really responsive. They were very professional. They just didn't let us know about the hardware problems and we had to find it ourselves."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Arab, AL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
