"Very well, they arrived at the appointed time and completed the work quickly and professionally. The first time I purchased from them, I did the installation. I caught a sale and received a substantial discount. But the next day, they phoned to say that they had decided to use the same flooring in their sales display, and that they would reduce the price to match their dealer cost. I don't know of any other place that gives discounts after the sale. When I installed the engineered flooring, the pieces were not locking together properly when I followed the manufacturers instructions. I phoned to ask for help, and they gave me the mobile number so I could talk to one of their installers. After a brief conversation, I was able to complete the project successfully. I have dealt with them on three projects, and they treated me very well each time."

"AMERICAN CARPET CLEANERS were great to work with. My wife commented that the person (David I believe) they sent to our home was one of the nicest people she has ever met.  He showed up on time and cleaned our carpets. This was a challenge as we have an older dog who is determined to destroy our carpets.   <br /> This company has a no extra charge policy for carpets. You pay the price agreed upon and that is it. The other providers seem to want to charge more for stains and additional work.  <br /> We had a great experience and would recommend them without reservation."

"My whole experience was very very good. They were helpful in the store; two or three representatives pitched in to help me find the specific carpet I was looking for. They were professional and obviously experienced. They were careful to make sure I got the exact carpet I wanted."

"This might have been a good experience if there had been better communication from the start. Changing the color of your floors is apparently a necessary part of the process, but that was not made clear even though, when both the company rep and the technician said something about color, both times I said I wanted the floors the honey color they already were. Neither individual grabbed that opportunity to explain their service or to negotiate a minimal color change that might have been acceptable. Now I have floors in a color I don't like and that doesn't match the other wood in our home. The finish is nice and the worn parts of our floors are less noticeable. Nevertheless, if I could have anticipated the finished look I would never have gone forward with the project. I'm sure there's no way to change it now, so I'm trying to be content."

"I needed carpet and vinyl flooring installed in a short period of time, which Empire Today was able to fulfill. I felt that I paid a premium for service on short notice, which I expected. The salesperson was a bit pushy and asked more than once, "do we have a deal?", which felt smarmy. On the day of installation, all went as planned until the vinyl installation was complete. The quarter round was not replaced. When I asked about it, the installer said that "it looks fine without it," which I disagreed with. He offered to put caulk down, which helped, but still did not look like a complete project. I did not like how he dismissed my request. I sent more than one email to Empire Today about this problem, but they did not follow up with me about this issue."

"We have used Bloomington Professional Carpet Cleaners for all of the 23 years we have lived in this house. The carpet was 3 years old when we moved in, and has never been changed. It looks almost brand new. That's partly because the previous owner, who built the house, put in high-quality carpeting. But we attribute most of the reason the carpet has lasted so long to Bloomington Professional Carpet Cleaners. We have had them in twice a year, without fail, and whenever we've needed a special cleaning because of a spill, for example. We cannot recommend them more highly: they are, as the name says, professional. They arrive on time, move whatever furniture needs moving, carefully place barriers underneath the feet of large pieces, and do their work efficiently. And the prices have always been fair. We recommend them to all of our friends. <br />"

"They were excellent. I felt they were honest. I felt they gave me a fair price. They came to my house and discussed different carpets and they said that they had remnants that were big enough to do the rooms that I wanted done and that saved me some money. I thought they were very responsible. They've been great. They quality is great. I would recommend them."

"Wallace construction came to my door after seeing shingles missing on my roof. Unlike the fly by night contractors that typically do this approach, Denise was very friendly, had a logo shirt and truck and was very professional. They helped us with our insurance adjuster to pay for a good portion of the new roof when I didn't even realize it was a possibility. They offered great communication which to me is key. Everything was accomplished in a timely and professional manner. Our new roof looks great and definitely improved our curb appeal. Will use for future projects, and I even have a few in mind."

"This is my second time using the company in the past few months, and everything turned out great as usual.  The staff and the installers were friendly, the installation went smoothly, and they did a fabulous job for a fair price.  I would definitely recommend the company to others."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Unionville, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
