"It went extremely well and they explained every detail and all options very clearly. Communicating with them was quite easy and they were impressively responsive. Quality work and contractors - price range within dollars of two other bids. Price went up when we realized I needed to pour new concrete - which, for many reasons ended up being a bonus but it did drive up the price considerably. They offered other options to the new concrete as well."

"The work was performed well by Eric. My sole issue was the inclusion of a same-day charge of $150 for the work performed. I may have missed hearing that when the office said they have someone who could come to the house in late afternoon. I paid the invoice withe the same-day charge."

"We purchased a home that needed a full paint. We had a week between closing and moving and Garrett was amazing. He met me personally to go over the process and cost. He really pushed to get the home prepped around the drywall contractor with early arrival days of full painting to get the job done. He communicated frequently to keep me in the loop and make sure I was satisfied with the progress. The last day they painted trim and baseboards and cleaned up. Our home looks amazing! I would highly recommend Abeyta and will definitely be hiring them when our exterior needs painted."

"For the initial consultation Mr. Varela arrived on time. He took time to listen to the whole story about my roof and the failed attempts to fix a leak I had going directly into my kitchen. The main priority was established to fix the leak in the roof before anymore damage was done. Later the metal roof was installed and I am very pleased with my new roof! Mr. Varela and his crew are all very professional and very courteous. The workers always asked permission to access areas where this was a gate and when finished you couldn't find a scrap anywhere. No detail was ignored as far as dealing with everything on the roof such as antennas and my swamp cooler. Very well done! Thank you so much Fort Selden Roofing! I will definitely recommend their services without a doubt."

"Prior to Lee Hoffman Roofing re-roofing our home on May 5-6, 2024, our home was water-tight with no leaks. Imagine our surprise when we discovered THEY CAUSED A MASSIVE LEAK TO THE INTERIOR OF OUR HOME THAT AFFECTED OUR KITCHEN, BOTH BATHROOMS, THE HALLWAY AND THE FURNACE ROOM AND RESULTED IN TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGES AND EXPENSE. Black mold developed due to their repeated delays in our attempts to resolve the problem in a timely manner. When we finally enlisted our insurance company to step in, we had to move out of our home for many weeks and live in an AirBNB so we would not suffer further effects due to the mold accumulation. We also had to replace our furnace at our own expense due to the black mold. We are seniors with significant health issues living on a fixed income and this has really been a difficult situation any way you look at it. The worst part is that they and their insurance company have dragged out reimbursing us and our insurance company"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Vail, AZ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
