"We had a lot of rain.  They even worked in the rain some of the time.  Donny and employees were extremely professional and always polite.   He had already scheduled a vacation and understandably did take it in July.
There was only 1 small misunderstanding about the ramp for the building.  The elevation was not gradual enough-- but Donny and "company" tore it down and redid the elevation of the ramp.  It is now perfectly suited for short people (and old).  LOL
He did communicate with me about  shelf heights, potting area, electrical receptacles, fan and light placement --also the deck, pergola and ramp as well as the makeover of the front porch and all the hand rails. In other words, everything.
Every  time I called Donny and left a message he always called me back ASAP.   If he wasn't on phone, he talked to me then. This was greatly appreciated.
This is a very good, dependable company and I think anyone who hires them will be well satisfied.

Small jobs welcome

"David and his team did an amazing job from start to end. David came out for the appraisal/inspection and truly listened to all my desired outcomes in regard to the projects that my wife and I needed completed. We wanted to transition from vinyl siding to the hardie plank. We wanted to change the front door Tod the house with an updated look and get everything painted to something nice. David listened to all of our concerns and within a day, had the quote. After accepting the terms, David and his team arrived as promised and immediately got to work. David and his crew worked on the house and completed all projects before he said they would be and the quality of the work stands alone. Throughout the entire process, David kept me updated on progress and expectation management. We will only use David and his team moving forward for all of our home upgrades as the price is fair, the friendliness is unmatched and the quality of work is the best."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Valley, AL

A pro can set an attic ladder in two to four hours, including framing adjustments and finish work. Complex installs—like cutting a brand-new opening or trimming joists—land toward the high end of that window. Tackle the job yourself and plan on a full day, plus an extra pair of hands, since one mis-measurement can slow everything down.

Local building codes drive this decision. If your ceiling has a fire-rating requirement, the ladder must match it to maintain that protective barrier. A rated unit slows flame spread between the attic and living space, buying valuable evacuation time and limiting damage.

Because codes vary by city and even by neighborhood, check with the permitting office or ask your contractor before you order the ladder.

Aluminum ladders are light, rust-proof, and easy to maneuver, making them a practical choice for most households. Wood models handle higher weight loads and can match traditional trim if aesthetics top your list, but they’re heavier and need occasional upkeep.

Compare the ladder’s duty rating, your ceiling height, and how often you’ll use it. The best option is the one that balances safety, convenience, and the look you want without stretching the budget.
