"German Roofing was nothing but professional from the time they responded to my RFQ through the project summary. Their installation flexibility was critical to my tight schedule, being off-site. I recommend German Roofing if you want peace of mind that they know their trade and will charge a fair price for quality work. Thank you, German Roofing team!"

"I cannot recommend Express Roofing enough. I received 7 bids for my roof project included some highly rated companies. Express Roofing was the only company to provide me with photos and a video of my roof issues. They wrote out a very exact contract and were the only company to include fascia board and ply board for the areas of concern that they saw. They cleaned up everything at the end of each day and finished a large project in 4 days. This included both the shingle roof and 2 foam flat roofs. Jenna and Jeremy were at the house every day to provide me with photos AND drone footage to show the workmanship and progress each day which I received via email. They were patient with all of my endless questions and phone calls to follow up. The roof looks amazing! They painted the T tops a good color to match the roof and new shiny whirly birds. Call Express Roofing (480) 226-4245."

"Our main installer was Jesus, and he carefully explained each step of the work and then went over all the information we would need to know. We are very happy with all three items, saving electricity with the SolaTube as we no longer have to turn lights on during the day in our Master bath dressing area, we hope that the Solar attic fan is helping to keep the house cooler by exchanging the air in the attic when it gets hot. In our small home office we replaced an old skylight with new double glass skylight with a shade system and this has made a big difference in the office. Sunshine Experts, LLC did a great job for us and we are very happy to recommend them when anyone asks us about our experience."

"I'd like to post a 5 star review for Lyons Roofing. I've used this company several times in the past few years and have found them to always be very responsive and professional. During the rain we had this week I had a pesky leak in my garage in an area where they had previously worked. They responded right away and spent several hours tracking it down and repairing it. It turned out the leak had nothing to do with their previous work but, nonetheless they refused to charge me for the repair. Kudos to Jeremey, JT and Matt. Great customer service guys."

"Trades Unlimited is a wonderful company. They provided an inspection for my roof and let me know that I have about 8 to 12 years before it needs to be replaced. The inspector was a great guy and was very knowledgeable about his trade."

"My 25 year old flat roof was leaking and no repair was helping. After Zane looked at my roof, he recommended replacing it. I also had 2 other companies give me estimates, but I liked the estimate from Beach Ventures best for several reasons: The price was low, he included a 10-year warranty, he has been in business in Arizona for 7 years, he promised not to go over his bid (which included all necessary plywood decking), and he was recommended to me by my Father. Rain prevented them from starting on my roof on the date they had planned, but Zane kept me apprised of the status and was able to finish the project within a timely manner. After the work was completed, I inspected the roof and was happy with their work and only then did he request final payment. While working on the project, they accidentally knocked the drainage pipe from the AC unit, but Beach Ventures paid an AC specialist to take care of it immediately. I was pleased with the work, friendliness, and problem solving."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Valley-farms, AZ

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
