"What a great experience! I can't say how glad I am to have picked this company. We had water damage in the drywall and the framing beams around two large windows. These windows had not been installed properly years ago, and water was causing dry rot in the framing beams. Handyman Matters, and their team of Kelly, Kam and Gregg, did excellent work in repairing the damage. I was so impressed I also had them do a number of side jobs including hooking up plumbing and a disposal for a new sink and faucet, and installing a dishwasher. Our project had lots of surprises. But these guys had lots of creative solutions. Very impressed!"

"Dave Jackson did an excellent job installing all my crown moulding and trim. He was courteous and listened to my ideas. He was expert in the construction and painting of everything he installed. He was always on time and called if he was going to be late. He was an easy person to work with. I felt he always dealt honestly with me and charged a fair price for his work. I am very happy with the work he did."

"He provided a quote on request, then appeared at the agreed upon date/time to to the work. He worked quickly, efficiently and completed the job in a timely fashion. The supplied door/opener looks great and operates very well. When it was later damaged, he again was prompt to respond to my request for services and was able to repair, rather than replace, their door."

"Brightside Home Solutions did a fantastic job on replacing all our windows and sliding glass doors. We love the the ease of opening and cleaning and can already tell a difference in the temperature inside the house. The installers were timely and efficient and the finish trim looks beautiful. We waited a long time to replace our windows and are so glad we chose Brightside for the job."

"Dave completed three projects for me: removed and replaced an attic ladder, garage steps, and an out door window frame. Each project was completed timely and professionally. Plus, his price was very reasonable compared to other estimates."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Vancouver, WA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
