It was not, however, and the quote was finally delivered over the phone the next week, after 3 more business days. I requested that I be mailed a written quote that could be submitted to my realtor and attorney, but never received it. The work ended up being completed by the seller before closing, so I did not end up needing to hire a mason to do the repair. While the delay in getting out to the house to estimate the work costs would have been acceptable under normal circumstances, it was a real hindrance to the negotiation process. The most problematic issue was the lack of follow-through with the written estimate.
