"We were 100% pleased with the work done by A1 Radon Services. They were able to schedule us quickly, they arrived right on time, and the installation went perfectly. A short time later we tested again for radon and the number had gone from 9 to 1. We highly recommend. them."

"Working with Sean and his team was a great experience and we are very happy with the finished results! Sean came out and tested multiple areas for aesbestos, we didn’t have any but still chose him because we were nervous about dust and mess. After talking to him about the project we knew he was the right choice and would do a great job. Sean and his team did popcorn ceiling removal, flat finish, and paint. It looks amazing. Our project definitely wasn’t easy, we have multiple areas with high ceilings and an atrium that we wanted well protected so the plants wouldn’t die! Would definitely use All4Him again on a future project, highly recommend."

"It went smooth and thorough and he gave us the information we needed to know. I was wanting to schedule something soon and they were able to come out two days after I inquired their services! Cant beat that. We also got a phone call explaining everything that was found for the air quality test and where to go from there. All their help was very much appreciated."

"Radon Stoppers did a great job installing a radon mitigation system in our home in Minneapolis. It was very straightforward to get an estimate and schedule the installation. Pat was happy to explain how a radon mitigation system works and where it would be installed. They guarantee that the system will reduce the radon to a safe level for the quoted price with no surprise charges, and also provide a 5 year warranty. We are very happy with our new radon mitigation system."

"Walt and his crew did an amazing job mitigating radon from our basement! Radon level went from 4.4 pCi/L to 0.3. Out of 3 bids, he was the only one to come to our house to look at how to route the system. He wasn't in a hurry and explained everything to me in layman's terms. On the day of the install, they arrived promptly and explained what they were going to do. They suggested testing out the sump pump before they sealed up the area and I realized it wasn't working. I purchased a new sump and they even helped me put it in! Wasn't expecting that kind of service. Would highly recommend Advanced Radon Services."

"A radon test showed levels of almost 5 in my basement family room. Worth's estimate was the middle one, and based on reviews on Angie's list, I picked him. His contract warranted radon levels under 2. He installed a one suction point system that vented from the floor of my laundry room through a closet on the first floor into the unfinished attic (where the fan was located) and out the roof. The work was done professionally and efficiently, and the house was left in good order when he was finished. Worth explained that if the one point system did not sufficiently lower radon levels, he would come back and expand it. Unfortunately, my house was the problem house Worth said he runs into every few years. A retest showed that while the radon level had gone down, it still was over 4. Worth provided an electric radon detection meter, and had me check each of the rooms downstairs separately to help him diagnose where the problem was. He then installed a second suction point in the laundry room in the block foundation, connecting to the original pipe, and caulked holes he found along the top of the foundation (where it was exposed and he could get to it) in the unfinished laundry and furnace rooms. Another round of re-tests showed levels were still too high in some of the rooms, and he came back and installed two more suction points in the furnace room, one in the floor and one in the block foundation, and ran a pipe above the finished plaster board ceiling in the family room to connect to the original pipe in the laundry room. The work was done carefully, and with no damage to any finished surface. With this final work, the radon levels dropped to 1.5. Since the contract warranted a level below 2, all the additional work was included in the original price. I am sure worth lost money on this job, but he stood behind his contract. I would unqualifiedly recommend Energy and Environmental Services."

"These guys are wonderful people and great to work with! They really go above and beyond, where do I start...Firstly, Midwest Radon does things right. I had multiple bids to install a new radon system in our house we just purchased as the levels came in higher than what the EPA considers safe. They guaranteed radon levels below 2 pCi/L, which was the lowest levels when comparing bids. Secondly, Jack, John, and Mike are all professional and flexible to the homeowner's needs. Communication and timeliness was not an issue at all, they kept me informed and showed up when they said they were. Midwest Radon told me that they will pull the appropriate permits, and get an electrician to install the outside outlet to power the system. Not all of the other contractors were going to pull the permits and get an electrician to do the work, these guys do it the right way! Not to mention, Midwest Radon's bid was extremely fair, considering the additional cost of the permits and the peace of mind that you get with someone from the city coming out to make sure the work is completed within code. Once the work was done, they cleaned up well. Other than the visible radon mitigation system, I couldn't tell they drilled two holes in my basement to complete the install. Lastly, I had an issue with a neighbor about the radon system. John and Mike were more than happy to make a trip to my house to figure out a solution (free of charge) that works for myself and my neighbor, which we ultimately did. Never, did I feel dismissed by them or I wasn't as important as someone who is about to pay for a new system. I'm confident that if I ever have any other issues, I could call them and they'd be willing to do anything reasonable within their control. The biggest shame is that these guys only install radon mitigation systems, I'd be comfortable using them with any work that needs to be done in my house."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Victoria, MN

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
